What You're Actually Smashing
The sessions run 25 minutes and start with a full walkthrough of tools and safety gear before anyone swings anything. Guests can choose a mixed glass package with bottles, cups, plates, and vases, a bottles-only round, an electronics room stocked with old computers, printers, TVs, and monitors, or the newest addition: smashing a real car. You can also bring up to 10 clean glass items from home at no extra cost, which turns the session into something a little more personal, whether that's an ex's picture frame or a coffee mug you never liked anyway. Afterward, a lot of what breaks doesn't simply get thrown away. Metal and electronics get separated for recycling, and much of the glass gets pulverized into reusable sand.
A Judgment-Free Room, On Purpose
Break Room Therapy is small and family-owned, and that shows up in how the place actually runs. Staff walk every guest through the process instead of pointing them at a room full of breakables and stepping back, and guests consistently mention how thoroughly the team explains things before they get started. Some sessions even open and close with guests writing down how they felt going in and coming out, which turns a strange little activity like stacking plates and taking a sledgehammer to them into something that actually sticks with people. One guest put it simply: it's oddly satisfying. Another said the thoughtful ownership behind the place was what made it feel different from a typical activity you'd book for an afternoon.
Built for Groups Who Want to Do Something Different
Birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate teams, family outings, friend groups who are bored of dinner reservations: Break Room Therapy works because everyone in the group experiences it differently. Someone always walks in ready to swing a sledgehammer on sight, and someone else is nervous until about thirty seconds in. By the end, the nervous ones are usually the loudest, cheering everyone else on, taking pictures, and asking if they can go again. Nobody has to clean anything up afterward. They leave with good photos, a funny story, and more often than not, a real sense of relief.
