The setup

Club Capri runs from afternoon into sunset, giving your group seven hours to fully commit to the coastal fantasy. The aesthetic does a lot of the work: linen sets, sundresses, oversized sunglasses, and anything else that suggests you could reasonably be photographed holding an Aperol Spritz somewhere in Positano.

Once you’re there, the experience keeps moving. DJs start with daytime coastal energy and build toward a proper rooftop party, while saxophone players move through the crowd and food stations add another layer to the whole thing. There’s roaming gelato, brownies, cannolis, and, for reasons we support without needing additional explanation, a giant adult ball pit.

Italy has not officially confirmed whether any of this is traditional. We’re choosing not to investigate further.

More than just another rooftop

A normal Saturday afternoon in Chicago can very quickly turn into a group chat debate about where to go next. Someone suggests a rooftop, somebody else wants food, another person wants music, and before long half the afternoon has been spent coordinating.

Club Capri solves that problem by making the venue itself the activity. There’s enough happening throughout the day that your group doesn’t have to keep manufacturing the next plan. You arrive, settle in, and the experience keeps evolving around you without requiring another reservation or another round of “what does everyone want to do?”

That matters on a group weekend. The easier it is to keep everyone in one place and entertained, the better the day usually goes.

Then sunset happens

The sunset portion is where Club Capri really commits to the bit. As the day starts winding down, the party shifts into a sundown sparkler moment that feels appropriately theatrical for a rooftop event built around pretending Chicago has temporarily relocated to southern Italy.

There’s music, skyline views, people dressed like they planned a Mediterranean vacation, and enough visual drama to make the entire thing feel more like an event than just another afternoon out. You can watch a sunset in a lot of places. You cannot watch every sunset while somebody walks past with gelato and a saxophone player appears in the middle of the crowd.

That is a fairly specific advantage.

Why it works for group trips

Group weekends are difficult because everyone usually wants something slightly different. Some people want drinks, some want dancing, some want an activity, some want somewhere that feels unique, and at least one person mostly cares about whether the photos are going to be good.

Club Capri manages to hit most of those requirements in one place. The Amalfi-inspired decor, rooftop setting, entertainment, food stations, ball pit, and sunset atmosphere give the experience enough variety that it doesn’t feel like you’re sitting in the same bar for seven hours.

It also means the camera roll takes care of itself. Between the setting, outfits, skyline, entertainment, and sunset, there are plenty of reasons to take photos without needing to stage the entire afternoon around getting them.

Nobody needs to know Lake Michigan is doing a very convincing Mediterranean impression in the background.

Book Club Capri on Batch

Club Capri takes over Castaways Beach Club in Chicago with seven hours of DJs, roaming entertainment, Amalfi-inspired details, food stations, sunset sparklers, and enough coastal energy to make your group temporarily forget where it actually is.

The accent is optional. The linen set probably isn’t.
