Colorado Springs Day Trip: Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak

What you'll do:

This is a day trip from Denver to the iconic Garden of the Gods, where you will see and walk through some of the most beautiful red rocks in the country. The Garden of the Gods has been rated as high as the second-best city park in the world.

From there, we will go to America's Mountain, Pikes Peak. Pikes Peak's summit is at 14,115 feet. It was named after Zebulon Pike, who was an American brigadier general and explorer. He tried to climb it in 1806 but didn't make it to the summit. Katherine Lee Bates put Pikes Peak on the map when she summited in 1893 and was inspired to write the poem, America the Beautiful.
