About the neighborhood

Step outside into 120 acres of untamed Colorado wilderness where the only neighbors are local wildlife, whispering pines, and snow capped mountains. Bordering a national forest along its entire northern edge, the ranch delivers jaw-dropping, uninterrupted 360-degree Rocky Mountain views from every angle—no obstructed sights here. Explore a private landscape of deep valleys, rolling hills, rugged rock outcrops, and seasonal stream beds. While you feel completely detached from urban sprawl in this pristine high-altitude sanctuary, you are still just a short drive from world-class skiing, gaming, and concerts at Red Rocks. It is total alpine seclusion at its absolute finest.

Getting around

Unlock ultimate freedom during your mountain escape! Because your group’s adventures might stretch from rugged ranch trails to snowy peaks, we highly recommend renting a Turo with 4-wheel drive. Having a capable 4x4 vehicle gives you the power to explore at your own pace, ensuring you comfortably reach hidden trailheads, nearby ski resorts, or local nightlife whenever you want. Take complete control of your itinerary and make every mile of your Colorado journey an effortless part of the thrill! Or, hire a shuttle service. We have some recs if you need'em!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Blue Sky Mountain Ranch considered the ultimate private getaway for groups?

Unlike standard rentals cramped in neighborhood developments, Blue Sky Mountain Ranch is an entirely private 120-acre mountain estate bordering a national forest with absolute seclusion and zero neighbors in sight. Featuring a long quarter-mile driveway leading to a large log cabin lodge atop the mountain, you get uninterrupted, full-on 360-degree Rocky Mountain views from almost every room. It’s spacious enough that you’ll feel like the only humans on the planet, making it a legendary backdrop for bachelorette weekends, milestone birthdays, reunions, and corporate retreats.

Do we actually need to leave the ranch during our trip, or can everything be done on-site?

You truly do not need to leave the property to have an incredible vacation. The ranch offers miles of private hiking trails, valleys, rock outcrops, bouldering, a seasonal stream bed, and flowery meadows right outside your door. For groups, you can book on-site activities at an additional fee like guided wine & cheese hikes, archery, scavenger hunts, private chef services, professional massages or shuttle services down to Black Hawk where you'll find ample restaurants and 28 casinos. Free on-site group entertainment includes an outdoor 8-seat hot tub with mountain views, an indoor hot tub for the prince or princess for 2, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, outdoor games (volleyball, cornhole, horseshoes, disc golf), and a lower-level theater room with a 65-inch smart TV. A ski resort is also only 15 minutes away from the ranch and within 30 to 45 minutes - hot springs, white water rafting, horseback riding, historic train rides and gold mines and Red Rocks Amphitheater.

What is the sleeping capacity, and how should group planners handle headcounts?

Rates are based on occupancy, but this sprawling log lodge comfortably sleeps large groups of up to 12. There's a 2-story master wing (featuring a two-person hot tub and sunroom), 4 cozy guest rooms, a third-level loft and another sleeping nook for two singles. Crucial note for planners: The base platform rate covers up to 7 guests. Because the indoor dining table and arrangements are customized precisely to your headcounts, you must input your exact final guest count accurately during booking to ensure proper pricing and avoid additional adjustments.

Is it really as exclusive as people say? Have any famous names stayed here?

Yes—the ranch is a premier Hollywood and VIP hideaway. It has served as an exclusive filming location for ABC’s The Bachelor (where an episode was filmed right in one of the hot tubs), The Weather Channel’s Freaks of Nature, and the video game Wasteland III due to its unmatched seclusion. It has also hosted an Oscar-winning director, best-selling authors, top-tier athletes, and even a billionaire who rented the estate for an entire month to recharge. Famous people and the wealthy enjoy private and this is certainly private.

How far is the ranch from Denver, and can we easily access outside attractions if we want to explore Colorado?

The ranch is conveniently located just 60 miles from Denver International Airport, making travel smooth for out-of-town group members. While you’ll feel miles away from civilization, you are still within easy driving distance of Colorado’s best adventures: skiing at Eldora Mountain Resort (11 miles), nightlife and 34 casinos in Black Hawk (15 miles), shopping on Pearl Street in Boulder (23 miles), whitewater rafting in Idaho Springs (27 miles), and catching a bucket-list concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater (31 miles). We do recommend you get a large SUV(s) or passenger van if you like to be on the move and use Blue Sky as a home base. Winter months, you'll need 4 wheel drive.
