Some fifty years ago, a New York businessman embarked on a labor of love – creating a stylish and comfortable home in Jamaica that melded the most innovative thinking in contemporary design with the special characteristics of this hillside, ocean-view property. He named it for his wife, Rosa.   

Now, new owners have fully renovated Villa Rosa, carefully preserving vintage architectural bones and unique features such as the “floating” staircase – while introducing ultra-modern luxurious bathrooms, outdoor tubs and showers, sleek bar and kitchen, media room and up-to-date technology, spa and workout spaces.

The bed & bathrooms at Villa Rosa are distinctive in featuring expanses of floor-to-ceiling glass, with doors that open to bring the outdoors in. Don’t be alarmed! At the press of a button, sun/moonshades lower to keep out light and curious eyes. Not just essential facilities, the bathrooms at Villa Rosa are designed to promote relaxation and well-being amid natural beauty.

• Ground Floor Media Room: 1 Sectional Unit which converts to 1 King or 3 twins (3 persons max)

There is room for cots in some of the rooms for additional young children. For additional guests over 11 persons, there will be a charge of $50 per person per night. There is limited space for small events or gatherings for up to 20 persons only.

Social Spaces:

• Villa Rosa’s living and dining spaces are open concept. It’s often difficult even to tell where indoors ends and outdoors begins. But the comfortable furniture in soothing sea and forest colors creates groupings for conversation or play, as well as quiet spots for reading or meditating.

The Retreat:

• Down a short path and some steps from the house more activity is on offer. The lower floor houses the gym, equipped with Freemotion elliptical and treadmill, 2 spinning bikes, weight bench, kettle bells, VTX weights, yoga mats, 50” TV and shower. If it’s more to your style to put yourself in the hands of a qualified masseuse or beauty technician, just tell the butler and that will be arranged. The upper floor room with outdoor deck doubles as spa and yoga studio.

• For the duration of your Villa Rosa stay, you’ll enjoy membership at Half Moon Golf, Tennis, and Beach Club.

• Golf green fees are complimentary. Cart and caddy costs extra. Free beach, gym, and tennis court access.
