Pack your favorite Disney costume and prepare for your Disneyland bachelorette party.  For a trip down nostalgia lane, Disneyland in Anaheim, California, is a sunny and beautiful place to spend a weekend with the girls 💃.

From fun-filled rides, Mickey-themed brunches, and more than enough Instagram-worthy shots with your favorite characters, Disneyland is the happiest place on earth to spend your bridal bash (and one of the best bachelorette party destinations). In this post, we’ll explore various bachelorette party trends, including fun activities, accommodation options, and tips to avoid long queues.

Where to Stay for Your Disneyland Bachelorette Party

Before planning epic itineraries, you need to figure out the basics, like accommodations for you and your girls.

When planning a weekend trip to Disneyland, you have two options for lodging: staying in the theme park itself (which is more expensive but also more convenient) or staying nearby in either a hotel or an Airbnb.

Here's what you need to know to help you make an informed decision.

Staying at the Theme Park

Lodging at Disneyland comes highly recommended. It allows you to explore the Disneyland resort fully. However, lodging at Disneyland is limited and almost always fully booked because Disneyland has just three onsite resorts— Disney's Pixar Place Hotel, Disneyland Hotel, and The Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

The Grand Californian is by far the most luxurious. It has five restaurants,  pools with cabanas, and a fitness center. Cool, right? But remember, staying at the Grand Californian will cost you $470+ a night 🙈.

Pixar Place Hotel is more affordable, roughly $259 a night (pre-tax). However, prices vary depending on the season, how far in advance you book, and various other factors.

Staying at Nearby Hotels or Airbnbs

You can also stay outside the park. You can book a hotel or Airbnb around Anaheim. Disneyland has a published list of 52 "Good Neighbor" hotels they recommend, and some are just across the street.

Pro tip: Even if you can't book a room across the street, check out these hotels with free transportation to the theme park.

An Airbnb near the park will cost roughly $400–$900 a night for eight guests. That is far less than the price of 3-4 hotel rooms, so you get to save money. Check out these Airbnb finds that are close to the park.

Where to Eat and Drink With Your Bride Squad

Now that the reservations are booked, where do you plan to wine and dine 🍷?

Since this is a bachelorette party and your fairytale-themed girl's trip probably needs some adult beverages, allow us to make one disclaimer. Finding alcohol in Disneyland is right up there with Finding Nemo—it's not easily done and can probably take an hour and forty minutes.

Initially, no place served alcohol in Disneyland except Club 33, an overly exclusive club with a $25,000 initiation fee and a 10-year waiting list (hard pass 🚫). Fortunately, the Mouse House loosened the reins, and several places now serve alcoholic drinks (sure, it's not like drinking around the world at Epcot, but we're not complaining). You will find these drinking spots in Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney.

Please note: Disneyland has limited some menu options since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, so check the menus before going.

Here are some iconic spots to eat:

  • Blue Bayou: Located in New Orleans Square, this restaurant serves Cajun-slash-Creole fare (order the Monte Cristo or seafood jambalaya) while Pirates of the Caribbean boats sail past. Plus, they recently added an alcoholic menu (win-win).
  • Carnation Cafe: For a delicious brunch, this cafe near Main Street is a must-visit for the bride-to-be and her girls. Carnation Cafe does all your favorite breakfast options, including Mickey-shaped waffles with apples and strawberry toppings (there's no booze, so no mimosas, sorry ladies).
  • Carthay Circle Lounge: For an elegant Mediterranean brunch, your Disney bride and bridesmaids might want to visit the Carthay Circle Lounge in California Adventure. Plus, this fine-dining option serves excellent Manhattans and martinis.
  • Oga's Cantina: This fun watering hole was the first place that served alcohol in Disneyland outside Club 33. Seated in the heart of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, you'll find incredible cocktails for your bride squad at Oga's Cantina. The team can enjoy Fuzzy Tauntauns (made with peach schnapps) and Yub Nub (a Disney take on a pina colada) 🍹, among others.
  • Wine Country Trattoria: For a nice dinner with your squad, visit this restaurant. The picturesque views make you feel like you're in the heart of Napa Valley. Suppose you've got a taste for some Italian classics. It is the ideal spot to enjoy some spaghetti aglio olio, linguine alle vongole, and other Italian classics.
  • Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar: This bewitching tiki bar is inspired by Trader Sam's jungle cruise, and it is located right inside the Disneyland Hotel. Here, the bridal crew can enjoy 21+ libations, including Uh Oa (a Polynesian cocktail) or Pago Pago (with rum, pineapple, and lime).
  • Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe: If you and your best friends are craving something sweet, you can enjoy Disneyland’s soft serve ice cream, Mickey beignets, churros, and Dole whip ice cream. But the top of the treat list resides the Jolly Holiday Bakery, which serves iconic Matterhorn Macaroons, Mickey Macarons, cinnamon rolls, and cupcakes.

What to Do: Shows, Spas, and Rides With Your Girls

Clearly, one of the main reasons to visit Disneyland is the rides. But as every Disneyland lover knows, there is so much more to the park than rides. Here are just a few ways to enjoy your Disneyland bachelorette party:

Attend a Show

There are free shows twice every day, with fireworks displays at the castle, parades through Fantasyland and Main Street, and Nighttime Spectaculars at Disneyland. You can also attend a show like Frozen—Live at the Hyperion, Mickey and the Magical Map, and Storytelling at the Royal Theatre (showing scenes from Beauty and the Beast). Attending a show allows you to sit and rest your legs.

Enjoy the Rides

To get the most out of your trip, we have compiled a list of must-ride attractions. Some fan favorites are Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, the Incredicoaster, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Space Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, and Indiana Jones Adventure. These fan favorites also have the longest lines—more on that below. You and your Disney bachelorette party crew can enjoy Ariel's Undersea Adventure, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan's Flight, and other nostalgic rides.

Explore the Park

No Disneyland bachelorette party is complete without exploring the park and soaking up all the Disneyland magic; a world of wonder and enchantment. For a full experience, stroll down Main Street, stop to admire the charming storefronts, and ensure you take beautiful pictures along the way. Also, check out some of the iconic landmarks and attractions.

In Adventureland, you can explore the exotic jungles of the Jungle Cruise or brave the treacherous waters of the Pirates of the Caribbean. Over in Frontierland, you can return to the Wild West and ride on the Mark Twain Riverboat or the Disneyland Railroad.

Enjoy a Spa Day

After a day of excitement at Disneyland, you and your bachelorette crew will definitely need to rest and relax. Head to the Tenaya Stone Spa, located in the Grand Californian Hotel. This location features various amenities, including lounges, steam rooms, and a tranquil outdoor pool. You and your besties can indulge in some much-needed pampering like a soothing massage to ease tired muscles or a refreshing facial to rejuvenate your skin.

How to Avoid the Lines: Making the Most of Your Weekend

People queuing up outside the World of Disney building.

Alright, even the Happiest Place on Earth would be exhausting if you spend all day in line. So you must plan your Disneyland bachelorette party around the lines, and the first step is to ensure your crew is in good spirits and having fun. Luckily, there are a few tricks to avoiding lines:

Use Genie+ and Lightning Lanes

Disney has recently introduced Genie+, a paid service that gives you access to Lightning Lanes and allows you to skip the regular lines at select attractions. Ticket prices vary, but for approximately $20 daily, you can make Lightning Lane reservations for popular rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion, and more.

The Lightning Lane reservation gives you unlimited PhotoPass downloads to capture all your magical memories with your besties. It’s important to note that Genie+ is subject to availability, so ensure you purchase Genie+ and make your Lightning Lane reservations as soon as you enter the park.

Take Advantage of Single Rider Lines

No one wants to split up the bridal party. However, many rides offer single-rider options, with a cast member moving you to otherwise empty seats. You and your girls’ will still wait in most of the lines together and will only split up for the duration of the ride. There are also fun single-rider lines like the Indiana Jones Adventure, Matterhorn Bobsleds, and Splash Mountain. We promise the rush of skipping past that 120-minute wait is worth the temporary separation.

Get Started Early (Or Stay Late)

Disneyland offers early entry on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, where you can enter some attractions (mostly in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland) a full hour before the park opens. Disneyland Resort is often filled with families, so the park tends to clear out in the evenings (plus, sometimes Disney has special ticket rates after 4 p.m.).

Disneyland App

The official Disneyland app is a must-have for any visit to the park, especially if you're trying to avoid long lines. The app allows you to check ride wait times, make dining reservations, and order food from select quick-service restaurants.

You can use the app to book your Genie+ and individual Lightning Lane reservations and keep track of your PhotoPass photos. Be sure to download the app before your bachelorette party at Disneyland and familiarize yourself with all its features—it'll be a lifesaver when navigating the park with your friends!

Where to Take Photos: Remembering Your Disneyland Bachelorette Party

When you reach your happily ever after on your wedding day, you'll want to look back at all the fun times leading up to it. Your getaway to Disneyland is one memory you won't want to forget, so don't miss out on these fun photo ops with your girls 📷:

  • The Castle: Sleeping Beauty Castle is Disneyland’s most iconic photo op. The same goes for the Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Have everyone wear their bride tanks or bride squad hats and stake out a good spot. You don't have to wait in line to get a photo with a Disney photographer in the middle of the castle entrance. Just find an open spot out of the way of foot traffic, grab a willing bystander to take it, and get posing!
  • It's a Small World: Small World at Disneyland is gorgeous. It’s lit up with thousands of lights all year round.
  • The Mad Tea Party: Located in Fantasyland, the Mad Tea Party is decorated with hanging lanterns and bright teacups. You can take cute boomerangs while on the ride—it's especially magical at night when it's all lit up. Afterward, take a group photo in the stationary pink teacup in front of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Its strategic position allows for a perfectly good shot with no crowds.
  • Mickey's Toontown: The topsy-turvy, quirky world of Mickey's hometown is filled with adorable scenes from your favorite movies. Put your Minnie ear party favors on and climb inside Mickey Mouse's car or take a photo outside Minnie's adorable house.
  • With Your Favorite Characters: You can't visit Disneyland without meeting one of your childhood idols. You can find your favorite characters by downloading the Disneyland mobile app and clicking the Characters tab.
  • On the Carousel: Sure, the carousel might not offer the thrill of Space Mountain, but it makes for adorable photos. Put on your bachelorette tank tops and mouse ears, ride the ride, and take selfies with the whole hen party on the rose gold seats.
  • Flo's V8 Cafe: Based on the movie “Cars,” this retro, Route 66-inspired cafe is a great photo op spot. Plus, it serves beer!
