One Team Built Florida's Best Vacation Rental, Then Built a Mountain One to Match It

Two Homes, One Obsession

Most vacation rental companies buy a house, furnish it well, and list it. This team works backward from a feeling first. Every property starts with the same question: what view, what plot of land, what setting is rare enough to be worth building around? Then they build, and building takes years, because these aren't renovated houses. They're architect-designed from the ground up, with the kind of custom detail that turns a stay into something guests talk about long after they've left. Paradise Found 30A took that approach to the Gulf Coast and won a national award for it. Resting Eagle, finished in 2025, took the same philosophy up into the Smoky Mountains. Different climates, different architecture, same instinct for building somewhere no one else could.

The Details Are the Point

Paradise Found 30A sits between Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, and Seacrest Beach, close enough to walk to a deeded private beach in under five minutes, with glass doors that slide flush into the walls so the whole downstairs opens straight onto the pool deck. That pool is a zero-entry saltwater infinity design with heated jets and bubblers, plus a separate adults-only section with barstools built right into the water. Guests have said the photos don't do it justice, that it's more beautiful in person, which is not a small thing to hear about a house that's already been photographed for magazines.

Resting Eagle is a different kind of ambitious. Nashville architect Ryan Thewes designed it around materials sourced from around the world: Shou Sugi Ban charred wood shipped from Japan, a double-sided fireplace built by an artisan in Minnesota, Gotland sheepskin throws from England, murals from Ukraine, even a set of authentic antique Swiss skis mounted as decor. It sits on 1.47 acres on Clabo Mountain, where fewer than twenty homes exist, looking out over layered views of the Smokies that most cabins in Pigeon Forge simply don't have access to.

Privacy and Views You Can't Fake

Both properties were chosen for their setting before a single wall went up, and it shows. Paradise Found 30A puts guests close to everything 30A is known for, the restaurants and boutiques of Rosemary Beach and Alys Beach, without sacrificing a private beach walk. Resting Eagle goes the opposite direction entirely: total seclusion, a backyard planted with clover and wildflowers and mineral blocks specifically to draw deer down from the mountain, so guests can watch wildlife from the pool deck or the pavilion swing bed. One property is built for proximity, the other for escape, and both commit fully to the choice.

Built for the Whole Group

These are homes designed for people who travel in numbers and don't want to compromise. Paradise Found 30A sleeps up to 26 across seven and a half bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom, plus a wheelchair-accessible ramp and main-level bedrooms that make it genuinely workable for multigenerational trips with grandparents and toddlers under one roof. There's a golf cart, ten bikes, kayaks and paddleboards, an outdoor kitchen, and a lawn built for cornhole and bocce when the pool crowd needs a break. Resting Eagle sleeps around 12 across five bedrooms, with five separate entertaining spaces (three indoors, two out) so a big group can actually spread out instead of piling into one great room. There's a black light arcade room and ping pong table for the kids, a sunken boulder firepit and turf yard game field for the adults, and a heated pool and double-sized hot tub for everyone in between.
