No, captains must be hired separately by the renter. We’ll provide a list of USCG-certified captains for you to choose from. Rates typically range from $85–$100 per hour.
How many people can the boat accommodate?
Our 35-foot Sea Ray SLX can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests, per US Coast Guard regulations.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes! You're welcome to bring your own beverages and snacks. A fridge and a large cooler with ice and bottled water are provided.

Is alcohol allowed on board?

We recommend bringing towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, your favorite playlist (Bluetooth speakers provided), and anything else you'd want for a great day on the water.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety is our top priority. If weather conditions make it unsafe to sail, we will work with you to reschedule or offer a credit for a future trip.
Should we tip the captain?
Yes, tipping your captain is customary and appreciated. A 15–20% gratuity based on the total charter cost is standard.
Can we swim during the cruise?
Absolutely. You can take a dip in the lake, especially when anchored at the Chicago Play Pen. A Lily Pad floating island is available for lounging in the water.
Is music allowed?
Definitely. The boat features a premium Bluetooth sound system so you can be the DJ for your cruise.
