Guided Outdoor Rock-Climbing Experience

We joked with our guide, Kevin, about drawing the short straw, and getting our group. There were five of us ranging from 61 - 71. I will say the rock looked pretty intimidating when we first saw it. We did Cedar Rock five years prior. This trip was Looking Glass. With Kevin’s expert instruction, and cheerleading we conquered the climbing. We each did four climbs on various ropes, heights. There was belaying, knot tying for those that were interested. We had a great day! Thank you Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing school for adding to our list of experiences.

We were able to book a guide for two days of climbing and were super impressed. Our guide, Kevin, was experienced and listened to be sure he could take us where we wanted to go. Forrest, one of the owners, was so helpful and great at communication. I would highly recommend this group for experienced or new climbers.

Fox Mountain Guides was fantastic - straightforward, easy communication and guide met my husband, 2 kids, and I right at the Crowders Mountain trailhead (seems that the guides will drive about a 2 hr radius to meet clients for day hikes... and longer if clients want to do overnights). Fox provided all the gear as well as sussed out that we needed proper backpacks, etc. and brought all these extras at no extra charge. As we are beginner climbers our guide Chayce planned appropriate beginner routes; not only this but he was also extremely familiar with each climb - this was invaluable as he could tell us how to navigate each portion of the rock face, etc. Chayce was also very kind, patient, and taught us all we needed to know to start rockclimbing!

My daughter and I had an excellent time with Fox on our first outdoor climbing experience! I highly recommend hiring them for your next trip. We’ll definitely be back :)

My partner surprised me with a guided climbing day that focused on gear placement and multipitch techniques. Forrest, our guide, was both professional and personable that made us feel comfortable. We got so much out of our day with him and left with the confidence I needed. I’d highly recommend Fox to anyone who wants to get the full value out of a trip!

Dan is an GREAT guide and person. Dan is super easy to talk with, incredibly good at explaining the technical elements of our climb and gear, an incredibly positive and uplifting climbing partner, i cannot say enough good things about my experience with Fox Mountain.

We had an amazing time climbing! This was my first time and I can’t wait to do it again. Chayce was our guide at Looking Glass Rock and we couldn’t have been more pleased with him. He was patient and kind, knew his stuff and mostly super cool! I highly recommend Fox and especially Chayce!! We will for sure be back!!

The area we climbed at on Looking Glass Rock was amazing with beautiful views and various routes on the rock that provided perfect opportunities for climbing.
