Beginner SCUBA Diving Experience: No Certification or Experience Required

Solid shop with really approachable and knowledgeable staff. Went in to get a diving camera case and a few odds and ends and ended up talkin’ with Dan and Colin for a good little while about everything diving related. Super positive, kind, and knowledgeable. Def planning on going back and getting my advanced cert there.

Highly recommend! Incredible service, extremely reliable place to get scuba certified for both beginner open water and advanced! I never dive with anyone else. The trips to Cozumel, La Paz, and Bonaire are excellent every time.

After going snorkeling on a boat, someone said I should go scuba diving because I am a natural in the water. When I was a kid I wanted to get scuba certified but never did. So I sought to get open water certified, I googled places in my area and came across scuba network. They were offering the best deal in town to get open water certified. Choosing scuba network was the best thing I ever did. All of the scuba network employees are very thorough and strict about safety. Not to mention they are all amazing people . They make you feel very comfortable and at ease. Shout out to Meghan, Jon, Enzo, and Ryan. They make you feel like family. I definitely recommend going diving with them.

This place and Collin were absolutely great! During our vacation we decided to try scuba diving. We were able to get a last minute slot for Discover Scuba. We worked one on one with Collin at the pool until we were completely comfortable with our gear and with what we would be doing underwater. The following day we caught a boat ride and went for our first dive. Collin gave us all the tools we needed to do a safe dive and have fun! I freaked out a couple of times but he didn't stress he just held on to me and helped me explore. I loved it and would go diving again and if we're ever in Miami or Fort Lauderdale again we'll be seeing them.

Scuba Network made the whole process super simple and easy. Rishi was the best and made the pool dives really fun. Highly recommend! Everyone in the shop was amazing, could talk to Mark for hours! Thank you all!

I did an SDI group scuba training here. I had no prior experience with scuba diving, so I had a ton of questions at the beginning, which they were able to thoroughly answer on the phone. The gave us suggestions to go with SDI instead of PADI and explained the differences, which saved us a lot of money. We also bought our gear from the shop - the student discount was great and we were able to get gear that fit us correctly, which made the classes easier.

I always wanted to learn to scuba dive, but never got around to it. Last year, I decided to go for it. Researching scuba shops in NYC and choosing a good one was a bit daunting. I visited Scuba Network and signed up for a class that day. Rishi and Fallon were the instructors for my pool sessions. I was assigned to Fallon and she was great! Rishi was very cool too! I was thinking of doing my Open Water Cert in Florida, but Fallon convinced me to do it in Bonaire this past February. And am I GLAD I did! It was AMAZING! After getting over my nerves for the firsts of everything: snorkel in open water, jump off the dock into the open water, first dive, first wreck, it was FANTASTIC. I had the best time ever! All the amazing marine life: sea turtles, variety of fishes, seahorses, eels, etc. The people on the trip were awesome as well as the instructors. Brandon, who works out of the Florida shop, helped me so much with my buoyancy and breathing. He's a fantastic instructor! Ryan was a great group leader and took care of everything on the trip. It was so great that I signed up for another trip in the summer! I highly recommend Scuba Network! The staff there is great and it's a great family/community they have created. The staff are experienced and knowledgeable. They're responsive to emails and questions. To recap: 1. Staff/Instructors - Awesome! Knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive. This is key especially if you always wanted to learn scuba, but are apprehensive and nervous. 2. Lessons - The pool and open water lessons were great. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be to do some of the skills. For the lessons, you can rent the gear you need or buy them. 3. Pricing - Reasonable or maybe even cheaper compared to other shops. With some of the other shops, it was hard to pin down the exact pricing and what was included. 4. Quality of Store - All your scuba needs are here. You get a discount on gear if you do the open water class with them. I opted to buy my own gear here because you can actually try out the wetsuits, fins, mask, etc. You can't do that online. Did I also mention a discount? The quality of gear is great. 5. Trips - The trips they offer are amazing and I wish I can do all of them! Especially if they're anything like the Bonaire trip. 6. Community - The community they've built here is amazing. 7. Location - The store is conveniently located off 6th Ave on 21st Street near the F, M 23rd Street station and the M55, M7 bus stops at 23rd Street or 20th on 6th Ave (going uptown) and corresponding stops on 5th Ave (going downtown).

I've been on two trips with Scuba Network, and have had an incredible time on both occasions! First one was Cozumel, second was Roatan. Can't recommend enough going on a group trip with Scuba Network! The groups they put together are so fun, and it's a great way to meet people abroad that you can continue to hang with back home in the city. The resorts we've stayed at have also been great, especially the Roatan resort they always go to. The trips are also a great opportunity to complete any certification you're interested in. On the recent Roatan trip, I completed my rescue training with Fallon who is one of the incredible instructors within Scuba Network. It was such a worthwhile and well executed experience and training. You won't regret a scuba experience with Scuba Network!!

My New Year Resolution included becoming a certified scuba diver and Scuba Network FLL made that happen. I have so many good things to say about this staff and location however Yelp doesn't have that many characters. If you are curious about our world under the sea & want experienced and knowledgeable leaders, you should come here.

Am on my way to Singapore now with my two kids, Sofia (13yrs) and Michael (11yrs) who were recently certified junior open water scuba divers after their pool training with Fallon (Scuba Network NYC on Sun Jul 16th 2023) and open water certified by Jon Landress (Scuba Network Ft Lauderdale on Aug 1st &2nd 2023). We plan to scuba dive together in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia. When we were beach diving with Jon at the gloriously beautiful Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, I cleared my mask underwater not because of mask fogging or water leaking into the mask, but because I teared. Tears of joy. An unexpected emotion came over me. Similar to that of an enchantment. Like giving birth to my two kids all over again, but this time in the water. Sofia and Michael took to diving like newborn marine creatures exploring their surroundings with confidence, eagerness and stealth. Jon is subliminally gifted as an instructor with flair for keeping the kids focussed, humored and serious, all at the same time. I owe it to the entire team of amazing scuba dive instructors at Scuba Network NYC and specially at Scuba Network Ft Lauderdale (Eric, Meghan, Shelby) for making a personal dream come true. As a mother who has plans to raise her kids to become outstanding race car drivers, pilots and scuba divers, I am also compelled to say that the leader of the pack at Scuba Network, Mr Ryan Hoffman, who trained and certified me at the Red Sea, Egypt, is a proven leader with fine judgement in who he hires to help him expand the scuba diving community worldwide. I learned along the way that Jon Landress trained Ryan Hoffman himself. What an honor for my kids and I to be certified by two scuba dive titans. Being someone who is part of three alumni that significantly contributed towards and built Singapore into the affluent and successful city it is today, I am familiar with encounters with greatness. Thank you, Fallon, Jon and Ryan. For going the extra mile to achieve what’s above and beyond, passionately and tirelessly, underwater.

I started diving with Scuba Network in 2020, through the worst and most uncertain time of the pandemic. I was looking for a hobby and found instead a new passion, an incredible community, the best instructors, the best equipment/gear recommendations, the best customer service and the best underwater experiences I could have ever dreamed of. I never feel as safe as when I am diving with a group led by Scuba Network.

The whole staff in Scuba Network Ft Lauderdale is so helpful, professional, responsive! A great experience for me - especially Meghan M. the most amazing dive master EVER!! She was so patient and supportive- super positive and a true joy!!! If you’re planning to get certified don’t hesitate and I hope u can also ask for Meghan!! ☺️

AMAZING COMPANY! I completed my Open Water Dive Certification with SCUBA Network and I could not be more happy with my experience!! From completing the in-person review, to the pool dives, to the ocean dives, the process was seemingly carefree. With prompt responses to emails and flexible staff, my difficult schedule was no hard task for this team to work around! My fiancé faced difficulties completing the skills in the pool dive and the team was incredibly caring and supportive while encouraging him to continue when he felt comfortable. I continued to complete my training solo and was met with an overflow of support from other members completing their certification and the instructors. The instructors foster a strong community among dive members which helps members feel supported while completing the dives. On my final two dives I had the privilege to work with the instructor Meghan, who demonstrated astounding leadership, patiences, and empathy during our back to back shore and boat dives. I feel privileged to have completed my dive certification with SCUBA Network and am looking forward to staying connected with this family in the future by partaking in more dives and trips! My son and I chose SCUBA Network for our certification course and had a great experience. Every instructor we met with was patient, knowledgeable and eager to help you learn how to safely enjoy diving.

Omg, where to start? Hailey did my pool dives, which really helped me prepare for the upcoming beach and ocean dives. I told myself if I did not feel confident after the pool, it's a wrap, back to BK and I guess I won't be a SCUBA diver :) Hailey gave me the skills and patiently worked with me so that I was able to move on confidently. Meaghan did my beach and boat dives, now that I think about it, hooooowwwww can one person command SEVEN people to properly gear up - there are a lot of checks to keep you safe, and trudge across the beach, swim out to where the water is 10 feet deep and put us through the rigors of certification, TWICE? - I slept really good Saturday night :) Then came open water on Sunday with Meaghan, Marty, Brad, Jade, and I can't remember everyone's name on the boat crew but they got you! Trust me, I would not have jumped off of that boat without this very crew, they are amazing. Once again, we're underwater, and am I nervous? Of course but Meaghan and Marty were a perfect team, and I knew I was in good hands. When my ears didn't pop during the second dive, Meaghan swam over and we ascended a bit and I was able to equalize and go back down. I had trouble with neutral buoyancy and started to float to the surface but, Marty was right there to help me, breathing is the easy part of Scuba diving. And the SCUBA Network will make sure that by the end all the other parts of the certification are easy as well. I am now SCUBA certified and I feel sooo confident in my skills I'm moving on to advanced and I can't wait to join one of their many great dive trips. PS the people you meet during your dives, are completely awesome, hopefully friends for life. I'm looking forward to diving with them again.

I'm very satisfied with SCUBA Network. From the first call through gear questions and final certification, they have been extremely helpful, professional, and answered all my questions. I personally shopped around a lot to get dive certified, and asked a lot of my local friends that are certified for recommendations and most led me to this dive center. I couldn’t be happier with my decision and their team, Kiki and Lin! These guys are extremely professional and knowledgeable in the diving industry! Can’t wait for my first official dive! There aren’t words to fully illustrate how helpful they were. We came in looking for gear upgrades since the weather unfortunately didn’t cooperate with us this weekend. Prior to our visit to scuba network, I had a lot of questions on gear I’ve previously researched. Every question was answered thoroughly, and to make sure he understood the full picture he also asked us questions. I left feeling even more educated, and not once was I given a pitch on what to buy.
