What is permanent jewelry, and how long does it last?
Permanent jewelry is custom-fit, clasp-free jewelry that’s micro-welded directly onto your body using industry-leading tools. It’s as permanent as you want it to be - on until you decide otherwise. With proper care, gold-filled and sterling silver pieces can last 2–5+ years, and solid gold can last a lifetime. Daily wear, skin chemistry, and lifestyle all impact longevity. We only use high-quality, skin-safe metals: • 14k Gold Filled (1/20 14K GF): bonded with 100x more gold than plating • Sterling Silver (.925): hypoallergenic and timeless • Solid 14k Gold: the most durable and tarnish-free option We never use gold-plated or mystery metals. Ever.
Will it hurt? Is it implanted into my body?
Not at all! Permanent jewelry is not implanted - it simply rests on your skin like any other bracelet or necklace, just without a clasp. You’ll never feel the weld itself - we place a leather barrier between your skin and the weld site to ensure complete safety. We use only industry-standard tools and practices, and the entire process is quick, gentle, and non-invasive.
What if it breaks?
“Permanent” doesn’t mean indestructible. For safety, our chains are designed to break under pressure. If your child, dog, or sweater snags it—don’t panic. Bring it back and we’ll repair or re-weld it. If you lose it entirely, we offer a one-time 10% discount on a replacement.
How do I care for my permanent jewelry?
Treat your jewelry with love and it’ll love you back. To keep it looking its best: Use your provided polishing cloth regularly. For deeper cleaning, gently scrub with a soft-bristle toothbrush and a drop of mild dish soap. You can also ask about our Lavish Foaming Jewelry Cleaner—a skin-safe, travel-friendly cleaner that works beautifully on permanent and traditional jewelry alike! Avoid harsh chemicals (especially chlorine and sulfur), and rinse after swimming or sweating when possible. When necessary, sterling silver can be more thoroughly cleaned. Reach out for information!
How do I remove it, and is it really forever?
It’s easy to remove—just clip the jump ring (the small welded connector) with scissors or nail clippers. Save your chain, and we’ll re-weld it for free. We like to say it’s “as permanent as you want it to be.” You can also request a clasp if you need flexibility.

How many different chain styles do you offer?
We have over 65 different chains to choose from, with silver, gold, rose gold, and mixed metal options. Inventory is always evolving and we regularly have new additions to our stock.
Can it be resized or re-welded?
Yes! We offer free re-welds if you still have your chain. Need it resized? Let’s talk - some styles can be adjusted.
Is it waterproof?
Our jewelry is water-safe, but no metal is truly immune to wear. “Waterproof” is a marketing term. Avoid chlorine, sulfur, and harsh products - especially with sterling silver and gold-filled - to keep your piece looking its best.
What if I have metal allergies?
We only use hypoallergenic, nickel-free metals. But everyone’s skin is different - if you have known sensitivities (especially to brass or copper), solid 14k gold is your best bet.
Can I travel with it?
Yes! Your jewelry is TSA-friendly and airport safe—you won’t need to remove it during security checks.
What if I have to have an MRI or surgery?
The healthcare community is becoming more familiar with permanent jewelry, and in some cases, your provider may simply wrap the piece if it’s non-magnetic and not in the way of the procedure. All of our metals are non-magnetic, so this is often possible—but it’s always up to the provider’s discretion. If you’re asked to remove it, no worries! Just clip the jump ring (the small welded connector), save your chain, and we’ll re-weld it for free when you're ready.
