Snowshoeing through Summit County’s backcountry in winter offers a peaceful and scenic escape into nature, with soft powder trails and stunning mountain views. It’s an easy-to-learn activity that suits all fitness levels and can be either a relaxing outing or a high-energy cardio adventure. Guests can choose from a variety of routes, including tranquil meadows, shaded canyons, or more challenging treks to elevated winter viewpoints. One of the best parts of snowshoeing is the quiet beauty—walking through snowy forests while sunlight sparkles on the snow creates a magical experience. Guided tours are tailored to your group’s preferences and fitness level, ensuring a fun, safe, and personalized adventure. Half-day tours are available daily, and all snowshoes and poles are provided.

Itinerary:
Pre Trip – Clients will be contacted directly from their guide no later than 48 hours before the start of the trip to discuss adventure details.
Day of Tour – Go to trailhead or CAG basecamp to meet your guide and then travel into the field for a full day of learning and fun.
Trip Package Includes:
CAG local, professional guide (6:1 maximum guide to participant ratio)
Snowshoes and poles
Transportation from designated meeting place to the trailhead if needed
A safe, fun, and educational experience

No experience necessary. We have trips for kids, families, and individuals of all experience and fitness levels.
How physically fit do I need to be to participate in this course?
Colorado Adventure Guides priority is keeping our patrons and students safe. Our guides and instructors are trained to recognize potentially hazardous situations in the backcountry; they plan and operate accordingly. Your ability to enjoy the adventure depends on your health and fitness, thus we contact you before selecting a trail.
What is the minimum age for a snowshoeing tour?
We generally offer snowshoeing tours to children 5 and up. Exceptions can be made depending on your child’s size and ability.
When and how do I meet up with our instructor?
Your instructor will contact you at least 48 hours prior to your activity start date to finalize details regarding meeting location and time.
What should I bring?
We supply snowshoes.
