Crab Island is always a great time. If you’d like to be out there when the water is at its most beautiful, it is best to be there during incoming and high tide, for example, if high tide is at 11 am, it would be best to book a trip in the morning, as early as 8 or 9am.
You can view the tides for Destin, East Pass here

A good rule of thumb is to bring what you would for a long day at the beach, minus the chairs and umbrellas of course. Bring any food or drinks you will need for the day, towels, sunglasses, sunscreen, koozies, dry clothes, charging cords, etc. There is a more thorough list on the Prime Time Charters website and in your conformation email.
While Sharks do live in our waters, they are not a problem at Crab Island. They are sometimes spotted on the waters around the area but rarely if ever, venture into the crowd. I have been out there 100s of times and have seen sharks but not on the actual sandbar.
Jelly fish can be a problem during the hottest months of the year (August and September) and usually move with the currents and tides. Sometimes they can be a nuisance but we have ways of avoiding them within reason.
There is no alcohol sold at crab island as it is a state park, so bring all that you think you need and then some. There are food vendors but they are seasonal and may not be abundantly available until May. They sell burgers, boiled peanuts, pizza, bbq, ice cream, fresh tropical fruit, coconuts and more. The vendors accept cards but cash is usually a better and faster option.
There is also a general store out there that sells some basic necessities
Prime Time Charters is one of the very few experiences that can cater to 13 passengers and is also one of the most reasonably priced. We also offer a fully customizable experience with included floats, add-on floats and a full catering menu. If you want to see dolphins or tour the harbor, there is no additional
Fee, just let your captain know.
While we are fully insured, we recommend looking into the optional
Charter insurance (link provided in email) to give you further piece of mind. Our insurance covers the vessel and passengers for damages caused by our crew or others. If your group damages the boat or injures themselves the optional insurance will cover you. We have had no incidents in our history.
The insurance is typically around $100
