I rented a 7'0" hard top from them for 24 hours, as well as a couple of umbrellas and chairs which I kept overnight. Everyone working was so helpful and positive, including Randy, Aura, Dylan, and Daniel. They take great care of their equipment, especially the boards, by inspecting them before and after each usage. On top of that, the shop is located in a central location, making it super convenient to access. Overall, I loved my experience renting from here and if I ever return to PB, will be sure to rent from them again.

This is our go-to place for wetsuits when in town. Staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Just appreciate my kids always being treated respectfully!

I rented a beach cruiser for a little ride over to Campland. The staff were super friendly and got me on the boardwalk in no time. The bike was like brand new and pedaled so smooth. I definitely recommend renting your next bike here.

Best surf rentals ever! Randy and his team (Chad and Robby) took such incredible care of me during my last visit to San Diego. I didn't want to travel with my boards and took the risk to try some rentals which rarely ends up being a good prospect. They had the best selection that I have ever seen during surf travel. I rented a Gary Linden shape that they recommended and it was absolutely perfect. They also had tons of Rusty shapes as well as many other reputable brands. If you're a beginner, I can't imagine better people to learn from. Thanks so much guys, I will definitely see you next trip. Really enjoyed talking surfing with you, didn't want to leave!

I had an incredible experience with PB Surf Shop! From the moment I got in the water, the lesson was all about building confidence, learning step by step, and having fun. Pablo was a great instructor—he explained the basics clearly, corrected my mistakes, and kept me improving while making the whole session really enjoyable. Such a cool shop. Right on the beach, where it's suitable for both beginners and advanced surfers, and where it's not too busy despite the great location. Simply great! 100% recommended! Fair prices!

We had a group of 10 new surfers ranging from 40 years old down to 5. We had no experience prior to our lessons. The instructors were accommodating and fun. By the end even our 5 year old was riding the board in standing up. This will be the high light memory of our trip for sure! Thanks for helping us shred! Everybody is excited to come back again.

Great availability of boards and wetsuits, a friendly team, and convenient access to water makes this the perfect place to rent surf gear. It's sort of a hangout spot, too. You're likely to see off-duty staff hanging out and surfing, contributing to a friendly neighborhood vibe. Pricing is really affordable and the people who work there are super knowledgeable and truly care. It's clear this business exists not to be just a business but to also make surfing accessible. Sometimes, rental items in tourist areas are priced so you'll only do it once. Not here. So we've gone more than once and will go again. They have kids camps and lessons and other wheeled items like bikes and skateboards. Bonus points for an indoor bathroom. If you have never surfed, definitely do a lesson. Otherwise, this is a great spot for quick access to beginner and advanced waves all in one location.
