Marina del Rey Sportfishing

The crew was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. This historical wooden boat is great to watch the marine animals since it sits lower in the boat in comparison to the newer boats. This is the best boat to watch bow riding dolphins too. Their current COVID protocol is spot on and we felt very safe and comfortable. We happened to see a blue whale, the largest animals that has ever lived on this trip. We also saw dolphins and other marine life. A day on the water is always a great day. Highly recommend this boat.

The crew made every effort to get us close to whatever was spotted, either dolphins or the sunfish we saw. It was a pity we couldn't use the galley, but the restriction was understandable. The overall impression was therefore very positive, and I look forward to another trip in the not too distant future.

The crew was very conscientious about safety, and consistently made efforts to wipe down the boat ad ensure that everyone was wearing masks. There was plenty of room to practice social distancing. The crew was knowledgeable about where to find whales - our group saw a blue whale, which I understand is rare. It was a very special experience. I highly recommend Marina del Rey Sportfishing!

We went during a heat wave and it was so nice to be on the water- much cooler! The kids, 6 and 7 1/2 loved it. We saw many dolphins and a couple sea lions. :)

Comfortable 65 foot wooden boat with a wide beam with comfortable open air bench seating aft that operates coastal excursions with an opportunity to view a wide variety of marine wildlife, dolphins, whales and California Sea Lions. Soft drinks, beer, snacks available in galley. Friendly and knowledgeable crew.

Was a relaxing ocean trip. Didn't get to see any whales, but the dolphins were out playing!! It was the best part of our stay in CA! Everyone on the boat was nice.

Captain and his mate where friendly and knowledgeable. With their good sight and the captain's patience we saw to kinds of whales. Lots of dolphins and seals. So worth the trip.

You did it again! We fished with you 3 years ago and had a great time! We decided to try you again and were not disappointed! We brought some friends along this time and they really enjoyed deep sea fishing! We got a few got a few fish, but that didn't matter. They have the best employees. We were happy to recognize 2 of them from 3 years ago! They happily take fish off your hook and untangle your lines. We always enjoy eating cheeseburgers while out at sea. They will fillet your fish for $2 per fish . They charge $55 for 5 hours of fishing plus $30 for a license and fishing rod. They take you an hour off shore.

The crew were outstanding. They were fine hosts and the process of getting license and rods was flawless. The galley was a bit small for all onboard but thankfully it wasn’t required by everyone at same time. Excellent hosts!

Great experience. The staff were fiendly and helpful. The rental gear was good quality. Caught enough fish to feed my family twice.
