Had a really good time here. It looks great in pictures, but even better in person. The drinks were really good too, as well as the food. A lot of good appetizers/finger food to eat in between turns. I went on a Thursday evening and it was a decent amount of people, but not overwhelming.
This a a fun place and neighborhood!!!! If you haven’t been here you must. The pepperoni pizza and the cocktails are amazing, we had our company holiday party here for 3 hours and it was amazing. We all had a blast. The service is great. Jake was always very responsive to our emails while making the reservation and super helpful all the time. Making sure I was understanding all the package for a 25 party. Seriously, Don’t miss this place and don’t forget to explore the hood, it’s very cool!
Incredible atmosphere, good prices, and great service.
We had the best time at this old school bowling alley. We found seats right at the bar and had amazing service from Trevor and Noah. Food was amazing, food was delicious, and the ambiance is fantastic. If I could give 10 stars I would. Love this spot!
It's a fun antique bowling alley. The guys who worked there were all very helpful and sweet. We had a problem with our lane, the ball wasn't returned and the pins wouldn't set up they fixed it and added time to our game. There's a bar with friendly tenders and you order food from them and the pizza I ordered, the burrata, was really good.
Highland Park Bowl had a really cool vibe, the vintage bowling alley setup felt authentic and made for a great night out. The overall atmosphere was lively and inviting, perfect for hanging out with friends
Fantastic building and space. Womderfully preserved and/or renovated. Drips with history. 8 lanes with old time pin machine that is great to look at and hear. Bowling seating also superb. Then why four stars. A bit limoted cocktail capability but the real problem is the food. Spongy, chewey calamari and tasteless, floppy pizza. Also, there was one server for all 8 lanes. Omce it filled up everything was slow. They did finally get him some help but 5 stars, for me, you can't have bad food and spotty service. The building, bowling and vibe are a strong five stars and if you don't eat or have cocktails there are no demerits. Outstanding history and presented perfectly.

Earlier this month I tried Highland Park Bowl and the staff really knew how to make you feel welcomewhy don't more places put this kind of effort into making guests comfortable.

Super cool vibe in an amazing old space
We had a great time at this bowling alley! I went with my wife and family and it was a really fun outing. The place has a cool vintage look that adds to the overall atmosphere. The pizza is made fresh and was delicious, and the beer was nice and crisp. We made a reservation online and everything went smoothly. Definitely a spot we’d come back to for a fun family night!
Amazing and unique place! Highly recommend and I'll be back. Noah at the bar is the best!
Went on a Friday night and had a two hour wait time that flew by thanks to the great food, drinks, and atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!!!
I tried to make a reservation for a birthday party and they said large corporate parties only. We got there and it was a three hour wait. It would’ve been whatever if the employee, Melanie, wasn’t so rude about it when we asked for a status update. They should be more up front about the expected wait online.
Love Oldfields & Bigfoot 🥃circa 2013-19 before I moved 🥲
Excellent cocktail bar with a surprisingly great rum selection. Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable; never had a bad drink here.
Love this spot!! Unpretentious, impeccable cocktail bar with a very cozy vibe. Solid spot for any night and especially love the different holiday themed events they have. If you want a good vibe with consistency, look no further!!
This place is a great intimate escape. You take your date here, you will do well. No food, easy neighborhood parking, easy service from the bar, great drinks, and party friendly. Bring a date or bring your friends.
Millie is one of the most Excellent Bartenders I've seen in 25 years a Bartender/Manager/Bar Patron. Cool spot. Great vibe. Nice atmosphere. Hidden Gem. Highly recommend a visit.
This was a nice place to meet and catch up. There was one bartender working, but that was appropriate for the size of the crowd on a Tuesday. She answered questions and created something tasty for me. The atmosphere was cozy and cool--I'd go again for a sophisticated drink or meet-up.
Creative drinks, lovely vibes. Pleasant indoor and outdoor spaces. Vintage and special in an earnest way that's tough to describe. And there's a stocked free library to boot. Recommended!
Awesome bar and delicious drinks! We went there to celebrate our anniversary which was also Valentine’s day! The cocktail selection is great. The Dj was okayish. I didn’t love the music but we stayed for a bit and would go back for the drinks! The service was great!
Unassuming outside but inside you feel like you are deep in a quaint European bar. Cocktails are so well thought out and perfectly crafted. Something for everyone as they have plenty of stunning non-alcoholic Cocktails as well. Definitely a great place to start or end your night! Robin, the bartender when I visited, was warm and fun and crafted the most beautiful cocktail. Go visit and have fun! Highly recommended
I came here for a drink with friends, and the vibe was really nice. The cocktails were excellent, and the mocktails were also great. There’s seating inside as well, so it’s a good spot for groups. When I visited, there were also people drinking alone, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and comfy.
Such a great place with so much history! Hands down the best hot dogs we have ever had! Loved the adorable puppy hot dog trays. Service was good. Everyone was very nice. A bit pricey for hot dogs and fries, but happy to pay it for a small, historic, business.
It's a hotdog joint. Go big or go basic and as long as you like hotdogs, you'll love this place.
Excellent all round. Great prices - excellent classic hotdogs. Don't miss the funnel cake fries with dulce de leche. And the happy hour (6pm - 9pm) for $5 house lager pints.
I’m so happy there’s a local spot that does delicious Chicago dogs! All beef, poppy seeds, sport peppers, it’s done right. I love tail of the pup!
The best corn dog I’ve ever had hands down. The batter consistency was perfect and cooked until Golden brown and crunchy. The onion rings were delicious as well. Dog friendly establishment the pups joined us for dinner.
A solid chili dog. From the snap of the dog, to the subtle sting of the chili (or was the pup a red hot?), not to mention the cute tray the pup comes in and the curbside Tail O' the Dog stand is worth the stop. Tail O' the Pup is Kitschy, no doubt. From the street side stand shaped like hot dog in a bun, to the Disney-esque stack of pickle, buns, ketchup, and mustard crates. Apparently stands like this that were as much road side attraction as place to get a meal were popular in earlier days of Los Angeles when California's car culture was developing, a way to draw in clientele. Currently located on Santa Monica Blvd. near the intersection with La Cienega and just up La Cienega from where it originally opened in 1946. There were two bike parking spots next to the stand.
Tail o' the Pup is a classic hot dog stand that has been around the Los Angeles scene since 1946. As well as with Pinks, it is one of the longest lived hot dog stands in this neck of the woods. The original stand survives to this day and was in the Beverly center before moving it to WeHo on Santa Monica Blvd. They offer a variety of food, which is normal fare for the Hot dig stand variety. Burgers, French fries, milkshakes, and the like. Obviously, their specialty are the dogs in which the name of the establishment proudly has in its moniker. The dogs have a nice snap to them, and are cooked well throughout. You have a variety of different versions available to you such as Chicago, chili, ballpark, dogs famous through their respective years. The choices are endless. It's historical. It's a nice nook to escape from the Los Angeles insanity. It's a time capsule of delicious proportions. Come on down and let the Dogs convince you on their own.
Tail O’ The Pup delivers more than just hot dogs it delivers a full-on nostalgic experience wrapped in delicious, well-crafted classics. The Chicago is must-try . It’s a fun spot whether you're craving a quick solo bite or bringing friends for a casual, flavorful outing. Jocelyn was great and super helpful!!
If you love genuine vintage LA culture and perfect hot dogs and burgers, this is your place. The fact Jim Morrison sang in the bathroom is just an extra. And don't let the hot dog fool you, they also have the best burgers around, thanks to that crispy cheese.
First time here. My friend and I stopped for lunch while we were in the area, and this place did not disappoint. I ordered the corn dog combo with fries and a drink and she got the 1946 Pup combo. The fries were deliciously crispy and not overly salty. My corn dog was perfectly crunchy on the outside with a nice soft/sweet cornbread coating surrounding a perfectly plump hot dog. The decor is super cute, and our food came in the most adorable little trays in the shape of a dachshund. Fun fact we learned, The Doors recorded the lyrics for the song LA Woman...how cool is that?!?! They also have some cute merchandise for sale...so I had to get t-shirt. ☺️
Classic, his place and delicious hotdogs, and I don’t typically go in for hotdogs my son, and I ended up eating two each!
I love this hot dog restaurant in Hollywood when Tail O' the Pup first opened 80 years in 1946. It's like a fast food restaurant where burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, and other American meals are served at. It's very interesting that Tail O' the Pup has many music, movies, and television stars who passed by shooting films. Movies like Ruthless People (1986) and L.A. Story (1991) were filmed here. Now that my parents and I have been here for the first time, we can create new memories that will last forever and I love every moment it. I'm so happy for this hot dog place, it was so good!
Really cool vibe, wooden panels, traditional pub feel. Nice atmosphere with decent music on the stereo - mainly guitar/rock while I was there.
Cool rockabilly styled bar. Good drinks cheap happy hour cocktails until 7. Recommended.
Great times with good drinks and some solid karaoke performances.
Super fun, slightly dank (kinda divey) bar run by food people. The bartenders are awesome, and everyone is so warm and kind. Even the door security and the guy out front who sells fried chicken/cauliflower (shout out to Mike -- you the man!) are wonderful.
We rented the area out in the back for a private party. Taylor, the GM, was amazing at helping us do so and the service while there was great!
Great local bar/hangout in Silver Lake. Dark, dingy, chill and welcoming. Decent old fashion's and prices.
Good prices, pretty friendly staff and u can smoke outside 👀 (finally 🎆🤍)
Our drinks were delicious in a cozy little classic bar environment. We’ll try to go next time when the DJ is there, but the bartender was still playing some great records. He served us as soon as we walked in & sat at the bar as we were there early in the evening and one of just a few parties. I had the Havana Daiquiri & my husband had the Classic Manhattan - both simple drinks, but beautiful & hit the spot. Easy walking distance for us, so we’ll definitely return.
Great music and the bartenders are awesome! Good drinks too, very flavorful and unique taste! :) I came here with my friend to watch a burlesque show, and the atmosphere was immaculate. I'd recommend this bar to anyone looking for a fun night out!
Place is a vibe that you wanna be in. Great atmosphere, great service, great drinks, great prices. Def a winner if you're a whiskey/scotch person too.
Amazing neighborhood bar with immaculate vibes. The music is always on point and the bartenders are amazing - special shoutout to Taylor! Menu is vast and covers a lot of ground - I appreciate them being well-stocked on green chartreuse ('The Last Word' capability). Happy Hour every day until 9pm, and ALL DAY on Wednesdays & Saturdays allows for a guaranteed good time. $10 mocktails are solid too. Definitely one of the best bars in LA.
A comfy spot to have a couple drinks. Great live music and super strong cocktails :) would definitely recommend to ppl!
The place is a perfect place for a drink you can sit down and relax. You can also bring your own food, because they don't have their own kitchen..
