The food was amazing. The aged meats, filet mignon and ribeye, were tender and very tasteful. The service was fantastic.
Again, we had another great meal my wife and I and because we were celebrating we got that great seat outside in front of the fireplace. We each wanted a little of the Sea Bass and Filet so we got them and split between us. Wow - it was perfect. To start they bring a little bread item that was buttered and with a little garlic. A nice touch to start with. The Sea Bass was so tender and flaky with a tad of crispness on the edges so it just melted in my mouth. Then, the Linz Filet was with a Bordelaise sauce and capped with a ravioli and pomegranate seeds. My gosh it was just wonderful. We shared a bottle of Daou Cabernet and they gave me a cute little brownie with a birthday chocolate. Yum! I just have not had a single bad experience here and you can tell there are many regulars. It is romantic yet great for a group as we have had groups with us that we have brought here both from in town out and everyone wants to come back when visiting. I cannot recommend this place any higher. It is a place with great food, excellent service and romantic.
This 5 star review comes with a caveat - I do not know how this place only has a 4 star total based upon my experience. Everything, from the ambiance to the food to the lighting was delightful. I was in town for a weekend, and two friends and I came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Our server was incredible. I don't remember her name but I do remember that she was from Cleveland. She was informative, friendly, funny, and attentive - all of us agreed that we would not only love her as our waiter at every restaurant, but that we would have been happy if she sat down and hung out with us for the meal. She made the experience better, which is hard because the food was exceptional! I kept it simple - foie gras (wonderful) to start and a filet mignon, which I kid you not was the best filet I believe I have ever eaten. Sure, I don't eat much steak but I am an avid, avid home cook and I know well-prepared food when I am presented with such, and this was wildly good. I didn't partake in the alcohol side of the place, but my friends did and they were beyond pleased. This is not a place for a raucous Scottsdale night - it is a place for a date, a lovely dinner, or even a joyous dinner with friends filled with laughter. You don't need to be quiet here but you also can't get hammered and act like a fool...hopefully that will help people decide if this is the right place for you!
I came here for a birthday, I love the inside, perfectly dimmed lighting and kind of romantic interior, perfect for a date too. The service was definitely 5 star, so so accommodating, none of us ever had a cup less than half full and the waiters and manager were extremely kind. I got 2 appetizers and a side, the escargot was so good! I had never tried it before but always wanted to. I also ordered the pork belly, it was so tender and filling, it could've been an entree itself. And I ordered a side of fries, wasn't a fan of it, too crunchy for me. Birthday girl was very happy with her filet mignon. And the manager also brought out a birthday dessert for her with a candle:) it was a good size and very good, some type of layered chocolate cake with ice cream and berries. I would love to come again! They also automatically include gratuity on the bill.
A fancy dinner in Old Town Scottsdale took us to The House Brasserie at the outside patio. The hors d'oeuvres and apertifs came around frequently and in generous portions. They were so tasty, I filled up, so when we sat down for the formal activities, I hardly had room in my belly. But I was able to fit in an arugula salad - fresh, bright greens with some goat cheese and strawberries - and the Chilean Sea Bass served over Yakitori Leeks, Roasted Sunchoke Purée, and Champagne Gastrique. Fancy and delicious! I could barely get a bite of the bread pudding and sorbet dessert. If you're looking for upscale eats in Old Town, try The House Brasserie!
Two thumbs up for this "mom and pop" restaurant. It is an old home that has been converted to a great venue. Our seating host gave us a brief history which was a big plus. When you visit be sure to ask. The food was great and the wine selection was good. Parking is a challenge. There was no valet parking. Don't let that deter you. You should definitely make reservations.
This review is based on drink, service & atmo only! Loved it! Jacob was fantastic! We planned on dining next door, but our Lyft pulled into this place. Immediate intrigue! Felt like we arrived somewhere in Europe, or a west coast cafe! This place did not open until 5, but Jacob let us in 30 minutes early & offered us drinks...when has this ever happened? I hade a classic gin martini that was perfectly executed, with the offering of blue cheese stuffed olives! My hub had the tequila cocktail with passion fruit was well received ! The bar was beautiful and we felt like we were lucky to enjoy a luxe Scottsdale cocktail. You will pay full price 18-22 for drinks, but we felt lucky to be able to enjoy The House! I can't wait to return. The menu looks euro inspired with Escargot, high end meat specialties , and beautiful pastas.
We had a lovely dinner with my parents here. Service was great, attentive and not pushy. We had the crab cakes and shrimp as an appetizer with some Parmesan pastries with compliments from the chef. Main courses were the house burger, ribs and scallops. All were delicious. We sat inside, where the ambience is calm, cozy and elegant but not pretentious. I really liked that we could talk without fighting noise.
My husband and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary at House Brasserie. It has a very charming, cozy Victorian inspired cottage feel. We were greeted right away and once we gave our name for reservation they wished us a Happy Anniversary and offered us a few different table options. We ordered a lovely bottle of Pinot Noir called Resonance. They brought out an amuse-bouche, two little light puff pastries. We started with the Escargot and the Crab Cakes. The Escargot were tender with a light garlic butter sauce. The Crab Cakes were delicious. They are made with crabmeat, not weighed down by filers or breadcrumbs. I ordered the Sprouted Lentils, loved the presentation and the flavors of the smoked corn and sauce were delicious. I also enjoyed the different textures. I do wish they offered a seafood special as I know they sometimes serve a Chilean Sea Bass I was wanting to try but they had nothing off menu this night. My husband had the Lamb Rack which was served with a bing cherry demi glace and grilled baby broccoli. His plate was completely clean when he finished. I ordered an espresso martini after dinner that was smooth and velvety. The thick foam was perfection. Highly recommend. We had the pistachio gelato for dessert. They brought it out with a sparkler for our anniversary, very sweet. Our dinner was inmate and our server Katie was great. She was friendly and attentive, but also gave us time to enjoy our evening and never rushed us along, which we LOVE! That's the French way after all! It's a romantic spot for sure. We will definitely be back!!!
Great staff, great drinks and the food was fantastic. We sat outside which was fun. We slid inside to finish up at the bar and we asked the bartender for a dealers choice and he nailed it with an awesome drink.
