I’ve worked and lived in tulum for over 7 years and decided to stay at this property as I have been familiar with it since it opened. The owner, Andres and his staff were honestly the kindest people I have encountered in tulum hospitality. The location is great, it’s in the middle of the town so if you’re looking to explore all that tulum had to offer, it’s a great place. The rooms are meticulously decorated and maintained. I absolutely would stay here again and I would definitely recommend. It’s safe, secure, and the esthetics are amazing for photos. 10/10!

I recently stayed at this incredible villa, and I can't say enough good things about the experience. The staff was outstanding—warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. The food was amazing, with each meal being a culinary delight. The villa itself was spacious, beautifully decorated, and offered breathtaking views. It was the perfect retreat. Five stars all the way!

We had an unforgettable stay at Villa Onyx in Tulum! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The concierge, Eli, was incredible. She handled every request quickly and with a smile, from arranging private transportation and in-villa massages to coordinating grocery delivery. Her service truly elevated our experience. The 24/7 security was also a huge plus. We felt completely safe throughout our stay, both at the villa and even when exploring town and visiting hotel zone restaurants and beach clubs. That peace of mind made our trip even more relaxing. The chef was phenomenal! Every meal was fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Coordinating meals was seamless, and daily brunch at the villa was the best way to start each day. The villa itself is stunning. The king suites were perfect for our group of couples, giving everyone comfort and privacy. We spent countless hours enjoying the pool and hot tub, which made the outdoor space just as enjoyable as the inside. Overall, our stay at Villa Onyx was amazing. We highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and secure vacation in Tulum. We can’t wait to come back!

My family visited Villa Onyx for Christmas and Andres and his team went above and beyond to give us an amazing experience. The chefs were amazing and security made us feel very safe. Concierge did everything in her power to make sure we had everything we needed. Def a great choice if you are coming with a group to Tulum.

We spent 4 days over New Years at Villa Onyx. The staff and chef were amazing and very attentive. The food was delicious. Eliana was great helping us with all our trips and sightseeing which was lovely. We were 11 in total. 6 adults and 5 wild boys between 9 - 12. I think the boys would have needed a little more outdoor space to kick a football but there was a great pool and gym to keep them occupied.

Our stay at a private villa in Tulum was a nice, laid-back getaway. The villa was spacious, with a great pool and a peaceful atmosphere. Having a private chef was a plus—the meals were fresh and well-prepared, making it easy to just relax and enjoy our time. Tulum itself had some fun spots to explore, but we mostly stayed in, enjoying the pool and the quiet setting. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable trip, perfect for unwinding with friends.

Villa Onyx was an absolute dream! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like VIPs. Aliki, our 24/7 support, went above and beyond to ensure everything was seamless, and the security team made us feel safe and taken care of at all times. The chefs? To die for! Every meal was incredible—better than any restaurant experience. At one point, we visited a resort to see some friends, and it only made us appreciate Villa Onyx even more. Nothing compares to the privacy, luxury, and personalized service we experienced here. Adjusting our plans was effortless, as the staff was incredibly accommodating and always one step ahead of our needs. This was truly the best bachelorette weekend I could have asked for, and we’re already planning our return. If you’re considering a stay, don’t hesitate—once you experience Villa Onyx, resort living just won’t compare!

10 star experience ⭐️ Villa Onyx is the perfect place to stay, relax, and reset in Tulum. It is absolutely gorgeous inside and out, with an entire rooftop view of the jungle. The location is perfect, just a few minutes from the beach. Our favorite meals we had in Tulum were at the villa and I will be dreaming about them forever! The staff are incredibly accommodating and we felt so safe at all times. We had the best massages to start the day right at the villa. I’ve stayed here twice and I can’t wait to come back to this absolute haven again!

Amazing new spot in the heart of the city of Tulum. There are plants woven into the architecture with lots of natural light playing perfectly into the vibe that Tulum gives. We stayed for 2 weeks and explored everything Tulum had to offer. The owners were very gracious and helped us with everything we needed. The whole place is lit up by candles at night as well giving a totally different and warming vibe. Highly recommended!!!

This is absolutely one of the best boutique hotels in Tulum city. It has everything: location, great design, awesome stuff, beautiful rooms. We stayed there for four nights in the room without the pool. Room was clean, spacious, well equipped. It has everything you need for quick vacations. The people working there are so nice, I wish every hotel had a same vibes. The location is perfect as you are walks away from the city, cafes and restaurants and also close to Zona hoteleira beach clubs. Esmeralda has plenty of parking space to park your car. Every morning they offer freshly squeezed juices at the reception and on Saturday they have Mezcal shots :)) Bed was very comfy and we slept very well at night, sometimes you can hear some noises from outside but that did not bother us at all, you are in Tulum :) Once again thank you for the great time and hospitality, we will definitely visit again in the future.

This was a BEAUTIFUL hotel. Would highly reccomend booking a room with a private pool as this made the stay so special and was amazing to have a dip in the morning or at night! The room was decorated beautifully and had everything you needed including washing facilities. Thanks for a fab stay!!

It is an unusual hotel, typical of Tulum, an incredible experience! A beauty from the entrance, the hallways, the walls, our super comfortable and beautiful room, the bed, the bathrooms, we had an incredible stay!! I want to thank Eliana, a divine person!! He helped us with EVERYTHING! Always with a smile!! Answering every question!! Super recommended!!

Hotel is beautiful. Beautiful aesthetic and very quiet. Private pool in suite was nice. Our AC broke the first day and they fixed it the last day, luckily we spent more time upstairs than on the first floor of our suite. Everything else was great. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

been to tulum so many times over the years & this has still been my favorite hotel! 📍great location walking distance to the best restaurants/shops/bars in centro 🤎 each room has its own charm & different layouts so it feels new & different every time ☁️ the bed is UNREAL, great after long days of exploring 🌴 staff is so friendly & give great recs for things to do in town, there's always security too which gave us peace of mind 🚕 we always use their airport taxi service for pick-up/drop-off which is just a relief to not deal with the nightmare that is taxis in tulum lol 💰 imo this is by far the best hotel in centro especially the value for the price overall, if you want to be away from the traffic & pretentious accomodations by the beach strip, this is by far the best option! cant wait to come back & spend more time in the new pool + common areas🥹

A magical hotel! This was the second time returning to Esmeralda and really doesn't compare to any other hotel in downtown Tulum. The location is perfect for eating on foot, it is just minutes from the main avenue and the best restaurants in the center. The rooms are comfortable and cute, the mattress is better than mine at home🙂‍↔️, and now that they added a communal space with pool it really is everything you would especially want for the price. 100% recommended!

I celebrated my bachelorette with 10 of my closest girlfriends at this beautiful property, and I’m still glowing from the experience. I started planning this trip a year ago, and throughout that time I was became pregnant. I wasn’t sure how that would impact my fun. My worries were completely unnecessary, because we had the absolute best time! The property is breathtaking. Eliana, our concierge, was the absolute best! She was warm, kind, joyful, and made every one of our desires come to life. Her energy set the tone for the entire trip, and she handled every request with so much care and positivity. The staff as a whole, made our trip unforgettable. Yami and Yessi our chefs were incredible, so thoughtful, warm, and accommodating. They handled our group’s food allergies and dietary needs with so much care and ease. And even though I couldn’t drink alcoholic beverages, they made sure I never felt left out. The mocktails they crafted for me were delicious and made it easy to stay connected and celebrate with my friends. The food was divine every single day. The security and cleaning teams were just as amazing. We felt completely safe and looked after, with their team vetting all of our drivers and even taking license plate photos for added peace of mind. The cleaning staff were not only excellent at what they do, but also personable and relatable. It felt like we were being cared for by family. Every day felt like the first day with how fresh and welcoming the space was kept.
