Had a wonderful time staying here for my birthday weekend! The staff was nice and friendly and even gave me an extra drink card which was nice. Loved the location and ease of getting everywhere. We took the bikes all the way to Ocean Beach! Probably the furthest they have ever been! The birthday snack box was a nice touch and really enjoyed the room. It was very clean and I enjoyed the stay! The only small blemish I found was no yellow comfy robes. I saw them in ads, but they weren't in our room. I forgot to ask for them to be honest. The water refill station is very cool!

Jan was was warm and amazingly welcoming. He did a great job providing us info about downtown San Diego and it's eateries and where to grab a quick coffee. The room is very cool with a unique motif. Nicely appointed rooms. Room size was comfortable. Only drawback for me was the TV being mounted on the wall next to the bed which could disturb someone sleeping if the other wanted to watch a little TV. Bathroom was a good size. Great stay! Definitely will book again on our next jaunt to San Diego! Will be in NYC and Chicago later this year and will check out the locations there. Highly recommend this establishment without hesitation.

Service was TOP tier. Experience #1: I had a lovely lady accommodate my late 1am check-in post flight, and even though I booked through a third party, she gave me a complimentary upgrade to a room with a bedding configuration that was suitable for my friend and me. Experience #2: Alan was phenomenal. He gave me a generous extended check out and even gave me a kitchen knife to use to cut my limes for my water🥹 It’s the little things! Overall, great hotel with convenient amenities (bikes, water refill station, complementary beverages upon check-in, etc) in downtown Gaslamp District in San Diego.

My boyfriend and I flew from Virginia Beach, VA to watch the Mets play the padres and we had the time of our life. The hotel is centrally located, just blocks from the stadium and there’s good eats around every corner! The staff is amazing especially Alan. Everyone made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. The rooms are super cute and comfy. Then down service every day if you need it. The only thing that would make the rooms better is a mini fridge! Also, Public transit is nearby and easy to navigate so we didn’t have to spend a ton on Ubers. Will definitely be staying here again. A Perfect Stay at Hotel Z! —Our recent stay at Hotel Z in San Diego was absolutely fantastic, and we can't recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, Cynthia and Jan went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, providing some of the best customer service we've ever experienced. Their warmth and attentiveness truly set the tone for a wonderful visit. Our room was super clean and incredibly comfortable, a true haven after days of exploring. And speaking of exploring, the hotel's unbeatable location made everything so easy. We loved being able to walk to all the fun attractions, fantastic restaurants, and lively bars San Diego has to offer. We had an incredible time and can't wait to be back at Hotel Z on our next trip to San Diego!

Jan was amazing! The rooms were comfy and cute! I loved the extra amenities. We came for a joint Bachelorette/Bachelor trip and had a few people book rooms in the same hotel and they all loved it. We loved being so close to everything and the rooms were very reasonably priced! We will definitely check out other locations and recommend others!

Alan went above and beyond customer service.When we arrived, he greeted us right away and welcomed us as if we were friends. Alan upgraded our visit by giving us an extra free drink and snack vouchers / upgraded our room. We went to our first room and it was way to dark, however we explained and apologized to Alan and he didn’t bat an eye in making a change to our room to a different view and brighter. Alan is welcoming to his guests, answered any concerns or questions we had. I have been to San Diego and this is by far the best hotel experience I have had. I would say that is due to Alan. THANK YOU ALAN FOR MAKING MY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION, by making our visit nice and comfortable. Oh by the way, our bed had these wonderful comforters on the bed that were incredible. No need to fight over blankets, no getting caught up in the top sheet. 🥰

Rarely write reviews but the service and hospitality from everyone at Hotel Z blew me away. From helping me facilitate a surprise birthday for my girlfriend complete with a room upgrade, a handwritten card, and gifts to the constant warm smiles and check ins to see if we needed anything every time we passed the front desk or anyone who worked there in the lobby. You really felt their warm and caring energy! The actual room was everything we could have asked for. The “naked experience” they talk about is no joke. The beds are so comfy!! Everything else is great too! You can tell everything they do is done with care and thoughtfulness. From the service to the design. I can’t wait to come back!! Shout out to Roberto for being so helpful before I even arrived helping out with my girlfriend’s surprise and also to Cynthia who was so helpful upon check in. Everyone there though deserves a shoutout. Thank you!

I booked this hotel for my husbands 30th birthday vacation trip to San Diego. It was one of the best decisions I made. The staff alone made this stay incredible. So big shout outs to Allen, Hope and Debra! Thank you for everything! They were kind, attentive and gave great advice on restaurants and adventures. The room was also great. We stayed in the king suite. Comfy beds and comforters. Extremely clean. I love that you get little things with your stay as well like free water, cookies, and even bikes to roam around in the city. Not to mention the location of the hotel is right in Gaslamp and near all types of restaurants. Overall amazing experience. Would definitely recommend or stay again myself!
