I was lucky enough to join The Drawing Room’s 2025 Winter Cohort over the past couple of months, and it really is a special place in the middle of Brooklyn. I’m not someone who’d normally call myself artistic, but the team helped me find a creative side I didn’t know I had. Every instructor and host makes it feel welcoming and inclusive, and it’s a genuinely safe space to show up, try things, and be creative. I’m staying on as a member because of how supportive the environment is and how easy it is to keep exploring. If you’ve been curious but unsure, even if you don’t think you’re “creative,” I’d really recommend giving The Drawing Room a try.

Life changing sounds excessive, but it also happens to be true of Drawing Room! They foster an approach to art and community that shows in everything they do, whether it’s an afternoon at Open Hours, a drop-in workshop, or 8 weeks of committed learning and practice through their cohort or intensive programs. Truly my favorite place in NY! Has a wide variety of forms and disciplines and a real mix of people at all levels, including professional artists, beginners, people just looking for a one-off fun experience with friends.

I never write reviews but I walked into the Drawing Room today and had an excellent time! I had so much fun trying out different art materials I've never used before and the host Juliet was super friendly and knowledgeable about all the supplies they offer. I was a bit frustrated using watercolors but the host reassured me that I was doing nothing wrong and helped create what I was envisioning. It was also great to see others being encouraged to create and not take their art too seriously and just have fun. The creative energy Drawing Room gives is unlike any other! I will definitely come back and encourage anybody who wants to play around with some arts and crafts to come here as well!

Loved every bit of my clay making class! As someone with limited experience in this area, Ivy’s instructions were very easy to follow. She was also a ball of energy, definitely recommend the Drawing Room to anyone who is looking to explore expressing their creativity. I’ve also used the co-working space, and something about it is very inviting, calming and inspiring!

Such a beautiful warm, inviting space. I had been to the midtown location and wanted to stop by the one near my apartment and was not disappointed! I’ll definitely be going back, the staff were so friendly!

I had a wonderful time at the Floral Potluck! It was such a fun and unique experience. Sterling is a fantastic and knowledgable host. The group had a good energy, and it was fun to see the creative arrangements everyone came up with, the amazing pool of flowers we all brought in. I look forward to more community gatherings! The Williamsburg location is great and spacious!
