Reviews for The Mermaid Den on Oahu: Metalsmithing & Jewelry Making Workshops

I celebrated my 40th birthday with a jewelry-making class, and it was such a fun and memorable experience! It was the perfect activity to share with friends in Hawaii. Kelsey was patient, knowledgeable, and made the process easy for beginners while still allowing everyone to create something unique. We laughed, got creative, and each left with a beautiful piece of jewelry and a special memory. I highly recommend this class for birthdays, girls’ days, or anyone looking for a unique experience!

My friend and I had a Mommy and me date with our daughters here with Kelsey at sip and smith. We all had such a wonderful time with the beautiful Kelsey making our first ever bangles She is so sweet and genuinely kindhearted. Totally recommend!!!! And can’t wait to come back for her ring class! See you soon Kelsey!

Great experience learning how to make bangles for the first time! Super cute workshop atmosphere with a bunch of fun ladies. This is definitely a must try or a perfect gift experience to get for someone you love.

Kelsey brings so much of her personal warmth to this class, and I love the social gathering aspect with the other women as well. I really enjoyed my afternoon spent with someone who is incredibly devoted to her craft and enthusiastic to teach her students! I recommend sip and smith for anyone willing to get hands on with a jewelry creation of their own, whether it’s a fun afternoon or refining your skill for a new hobby!

I had so much fun with Kelsey! It was great to see a different side of the island. Her space is welcoming and cozy. I have a new appreciation of the work and craftsmanship that goes into jewelry making. I highly recommend signing up for one of her workshops. I’ve already started thinking about what I want to make next!

This was such a cool class! I am not the most creative but left feeling so proud that my ring looked so beautiful at the end! You can tell she absolutely loves what she does & it made me appreciate how much hard work & creative design goes into jewelry making! Spent a lovely afternoon celebrating Mother’s Day with my coworker & making rings. She made homemade scones even!! So adorable!! Perfect afternoon activity, make sure to have your afternoon free, making jewelry takes longer than you think!

The owner- Kelsey has such a gentle, kind energy that instantly puts you at ease. The vibe was airy and low‑pressure, and the little touches — like bubbly and delicious scones — made it feel extra thoughtful. The outdoor work area was cute, calm, and perfect for focusing. I left feeling refreshed and cared for. Im planning my next sip & smith with family to visit Kelsey again very soon

Aloha Kelsey and Mahalo for making our workshop so awesome! My granddaughter 😸 & daughter in law both had so much fun wine 🍷 It’s like we’ve known you forever 🙂 your work space and energy vibes were right on and we all highly recommend this workshop to everyone who wants to learn to make bangles and rings. We weren’t expecting so much hands on, you are truly amazing 🙌🏼 Hope to see you again soon! Much love and Aloha Kalina 💜

where girlies can come together and create something special. I absolutely love how my bangle turned out and already can’t wait to go back to make a ring next time. And did I mention she makes the yummiest homemade snacks? The literal cherry on top!

Made a gold-filled bezel ring with a seashell I brought on my own. Super cute and fun!

the best class!! such a fun and intimate experience. kelsey is the sweetest soul and so patient! my friend and i had the best time and can’t wait to go again. would highly recommend!

My mom and I had an amazing mommy and me date! Kels did an amazing job at leading and letting us create our own rings! It's my favorite keepsake now. A super down to earth experience thanks to Kels. Update: I ended up going back to do another workshop but to make a pendant this time. I had a different experience with new people and that also made it super fun. Love meeting new people and creating something we love!
