You'll walk into Sable Candle Co.'s modern candle studio in Grand Rapids, pick from over 30 hand-curated fragrances, and pour a custom candle that's yours to take home.

Choose your vessel – Select from a range of containers to match your style or party theme before you do anything else
Blend your fragrance – Work through Sable's library of 30+ scents to build a combination that fits your vibe, your group, or the occasion you're celebrating
Pour your candle – With guidance from the Sable team, measure, melt, and pour your wax into your chosen vessel at your own pace
Personalize the finish – Add labels, decorative touches, or custom scent names to make your candle a keepsake rather than just a craft project

Krista was our person:) The whole experience was wonderful from beginning to end. I named my candle “Integrity & Me”. She was a breath of fresh air with a calm and charming personality as she guided of through the experience 😊. I wanted to empower and engage with a colleague turned friend at a time of hard transitional decisions in life. This was a way I thought I could be an illuminating positive presence and offer a candle making experience with light, fragrance, crystals, conversations, and great afternoon of laughs:) Thank you:) Just as you said the candle holder we chose was beautiful in the day and night — so glad we got the fluorescent glass canister ! How long is the candle-pouring experience?

If you book a regular workshop experience, that typically lasts about 45 minutes from start to finish for groups up to 7 people, giving you plenty of time to pick your scent, pour your candle, and enjoy the vibe with your crew in our studio space. If you book a group rental for larger parties, or if you need space for food or drink, the party can last up to 3 hours!

How much does it cost?

Our vessel shelf offers candle containers ranging from $30-$60 each. This cost includes the whole candlemaking experience (all materials and instruction). If you bring in your own container, pricing starts at $30 each (for 5-10oz containers) and increases based on the size of the container. This usually makes average sized containers around $30-$60 each. For larger group rentals who have refreshments, decorations, or gifts, we have additional hourly rates for the entire studio to ensure your group has the right amount of time and space for your festivities.

Can we bring drinks and snacks?

Sable Candle Co. is BYOB-friendly for group rentals, but not during our regular workshop experience. If you plan to bring refreshments for your group to enjoy, make sure to book a group rental at: sablecandleco.com/group-rentals, or email us at sablecandleco@gmail.com

Do we get to take our candles home the same day?

Candles take a few hours to cure, so same-day pickup may not be possible depending on your workshop time. You can come back to pick them up later or have them shipped directly to you. If you would like to take them home same day, we advise choosing an earlier time slot to start.

Is there a minimum or maximum group size?

Groups of 2-7 are great for our regular workshop experience that lasts 45 minutes. If you have a group of 8-20, we book your group rental according to your party needs for time and space.

Can we customize the candles for the occasion?

Yes! You can bring in your own custom containers to make your candles in, and we have label selections perfect for bachelorette parties, birthdays, or group gifts.
