Booked surf lessons for our team. [...] It was the first time any of us had surfed and Nina and Nick were excellent instructors! They kept it very simple and were very hands-on to make sure we were prepared and safe the whole time. If you’re looking for surf lessons, I would highly recommend checking out Surf Diva! Wow—what an incredible experience! We took surf lessons with Nick, who was informative, enthusiastic, funny, and genuinely down-to-earth. You can tell he truly loves what he does and has a real passion for surfing, which made the lesson even more enjoyable. The surf shop itself is a total gem. I ended up visiting three different times during my trip and found something to buy each time. Between the amazing lessons and the great finds in the shop, this was easily one of the highlights of my first visit to La Jolla—and my first time in California. We’ll definitely be back!

We had an awesome time! The surf instructors were patient and friendly and our whole group came out feeling stoked!

This was one of the best experiences and an amazing way to spend the first day of the year. [...] Don’t let the Surf Diva name scare you, we had a group of all men and boys (ages 56, 45, 15, 14, 10). I’ve had other surf lessons before (in Kauii, HI) and this was waaaay better! The boards are super long, wide and stable. Fonzi started slowly and by the end of our [...] session, had every member of the group paddling to catch our own waves (i.e. no pushes) and ridin’ em in. Two of us were lining up out farther with some of the bigger waves at the end. It’s hard to describe how addictive it is to surf, and to watch your sons ride the waves while squinting in the sun and salty spray. Thanks Fonzi and Surf Diva - we’ll be back! Side note: we were surfing on a chilly morning (58-62 ish) and I was completely warm in the full wetsuit, except for that first dip under water.
