Area 54 is completely life changing and the environment is full of positivity and support. I feel so loved and accepted every time I come to class. This studio has also allowed me to regain my passion for hip hop and work on strengthening my on-camera training! I had never danced in front of a videographer before, but Area 54 has helped me to build up confidence with it! At my studio, you reach a point where you are required to take certain classes and hip hop is not part of the schedule. We also don’t have any places like Area 54 where I live! I typically have to go multiple hours to attend something like this. Area 54 serves as a great outlet for me and one of the easiest ways to get access to hip hop. I live 2 hours away, which is much more convenient than most places! This is something I love and I’m willing to make the ride up there! And what’s even better is that I can still have access to these amazing classes at home through their online membership! They really make it a point to allow access to people both in and out of Nashville. Overall, Area 54 is such an amazing place. I have met so many people there and built so many new friendships. All the teachers are also extremely encouraging and always motivate me. It doesn’t matter what level of dance you are, what you look like, or where you come from! You are always loved, welcomed, and supported by everyone in the room. I highly recommend this studio! ❤️

I just attended my first ever hip hop dance class. My entire life I have been too afraid to express myself through dance. I have missed out on so many memories and so many opportunities because the fear of being seen has always stopped me from letting go and having fun. I found out about them two days before they were holding a beginner class. And the closer Thursday came, the more afraid I became. I had to talk myself into driving there, into paying for it, into walking through those doors, and not walking out. After pushing through so many barriers, there was the biggest one yet. I realized Jordan was walking around inviting people into the freestyle circle. I told myself “she better not come over here and call on me”. My brain was racing for a way out. “Maybe I can run to the bathroom” “you stayed almost the whole time we can leave any time” But I just let those thoughts pass on by. Jordan danced over, looked at me and asked “are you ready?” With total fear and a stupid bravery I jumped in the middle and started doing something that resembled dancing, I think. I’ve never had more fun doing something that I’ve been so afraid to do. The entire class built a confidence in me that it’s okay to be myself and have that person not be perfect. Area 54 and all of the students, and I mean every single one of them was so encouraging, to me and to each other. It was the funnest time of my life. I would recommend that anybody try it out. The choreography was so incredible. And if you’re like me, you might just realize you’ve been afraid of life for no good reason.

Area 54 is the absolute best. It quickly became my favorite place to be. Their teachers are experienced and encouraging. They have high quality videography. The owner Jordan is an amazing choreographer and an absolute sweetheart. The dance community at area 54 is the best I’ve ever experience in my 20 years of dancing. I would give them a thousand stars if I could!

I’m considering relocating to Nashville just so that I can take their classes regularly. (I’m joking…but it really did cross my mind.) I felt so welcome at the studio and left with a fresh energy that has stuck with me since then. Chmira was an excellent instructor and made the experience so special. Thank you AREA 54, I will be back!
