About this Experience

What you'll do:

You'll paddle through the protected waters of Shell Key Preserve, a natural sanctuary only reachable by water, and spend your afternoon floating on a crystal-clear sandbar with your group.

  • Kayak through Shell Key Preserve – Paddle premium sit-on-top kayaks through calm, protected waterways with mangrove tunnels and open water on a guided kayak tour built for all skill levels.

  • Hit the sandbar – Anchor up at a shallow, clear sandbar where you can wade, float, and hang out for as long as you want.

  • Explore the preserve – Your guide leads you to the best spots for beachcombing, wildlife watching, and birding in one of St. Petersburg's most protected natural areas.

  • Float and chill – Once you reach the sandbar, grab a noodle or floatie and settle in while the water does the work.

  • Paddle boards on request – Swap your kayak for a stand-up paddle board if you want to mix it up on the water.

This is a private kayak charter, so the whole experience runs on your schedule and your playlist. Whether it's a birthday, bachelorette, or a group that just needs a day outside, Shell Key delivers.

Why we love it for your party:

  • Bluetooth Speaker – Your guide brings a speaker so your group sets the soundtrack from the moment you hit the water.

  • Coolers with Ice – Keep your drinks cold the whole trip; just bring what you want to sip, and the cooler is ready.

  • Floaties and Noodles – Provided for the sandbar stop so everyone can kick back without packing anything extra.

  • Professional Guide – A local expert who knows the preserve, handles the logistics, and takes you straight to the best spots.

  • Fully Private Group – No strangers on your trip, this sandbar kayak charter is just your crew, start to finish.
