Brunch Food Tour through the Historic Mississippi District (Option for Alcohol Included)

What you'll do:

Let’s have fun strolling the delightful and historic Mississippi district while eating brunch! This neighborhood is a perfect way to experience a food tour in Portland. The Mississippi district has been revived in recent years while retaining its charm from yesteryear. Although there is a story tucked away in the past, it will be told. These days however, it’s a Portland hotspot laden with music venues, quirky shops, cozy pubs, and eateries galore, ranging from casual to upscale and all things in between.

This Portland food tour will unfold like a progressive meal, with many scrumptious bites and libations along the way. Examples will include a patisserie with pastries almost too magnificent to eat, super local tacos, a well-loved food cart pod with breakfast sandwiches and more, a salt shop, and mouthwatering brioche donuts. The option for alcoholic beverages exists. Non-alcoholic beverages are included.

You will not leave hungry! In this special brunch food tour, we will walk a total of 1.4 miles through the North Albina district and down Mississippi St, admiring vintage homes and historical brick buildings, all of which ooze charm. And of course, the hottest hipster hangouts, all while we visit five engaging foodie spots. Along the way, we will also talk about the history and current going ons of the Mississippi district and Portland. We will end about .6 miles from where we start. I will lead us back to our starting point, or you are welcome to explore the hood more and get back in your own time.

Hi! I’m Sherri. And I admit I’ve been a food lover since I could walk! Guests often ask how I got started giving Portland food tours. Well, in 2018, I created Portland by Mouth to share my love of ingredients, eating, nutrition, cooking, honoring experimental and creative chefs, culture, travel & creating community around food. Some of my most favored activities!

Myself and other guides are all Portlanders through and through - and we all delight in meeting locals and visitors who share a love of food, adventure, and our quirky city!

Additional information:

• We walk about 1.5 miles in total, please wear comfortable walking shoes.
• Let us know if you have dietary restrictions - gluten-free, vegetarian/protein-restricted, and alcohol-free are easy to accommodate. For anything else, we will do our best with advance notice.
• What to bring: proper clothes for the weather, as we never know when it will rain, and a few of the stops are outside dining (with covered options). We may be outside 2 of the 3 hours. And don’t forget to bring a healthy appetite!
• Don't forget to tip your guide! If you have a fabulous time and want to tip your guide, please do, 10-20% is standard for the industry.
