About this Experience
What you'll do:
You board a private catamaran at sunset and spend four hours sailing the turquoise Caribbean waters off Cancun — just your group, up to 15 people, with your own chef and sommelier running the entire experience from the dock to the last pour.
Set sail at golden hour – Watch the Cancun coastline shrink as the sun drops toward the horizon from the open deck of a private catamaran built for intimate gatherings.
Eat well at sea – Your onboard chef prepares fresh tapas-style appetizers throughout the cruise — the kind of food that gets talked about after the trip is over.
Drink like you mean it – Pour from a premium open bar stocked with cocktails, spirits, and wines selected by your certified sommelier host.
Celebrate your people – Whether you're toasting a couple before their wedding or raising a glass with your closest group, this is the setting where those moments actually land.
Stay on the water until the stars come out – With four hours on the Caribbean, there's no rushing — linger on deck, take in the skyline, and let the evening unfold at your pace.
The combination of a small guest list, a host who personally manages every detail, and open water with zero other passengers makes this feel less like a charter and more like a dinner party someone threw on the sea.
Why we love it for your party:
Private charter – Your group has the full boat — no shared tours, no strangers, no compromises on vibe or pace.
Chef and sommelier onboard – The boat's owner personally serves as both chef and sommelier, which is genuinely rare in Cancun and impossible to replicate on a group tour.
Tapas and open bar included – Handcrafted appetizers and a full premium bar are part of the experience, not an upgrade.
Ideal for rehearsal dinners and bachelorettes – The private format and seated intimacy make this a natural fit for the night-before celebrations that actually need to feel special.
Flexible and customizable – The host tailors the experience around your group's preferences — playlist, pacing, dietary needs, and more.
About this experience partner:
Moana is a private sailing catamaran based in Cancun, operating exclusive small-group charters for up to 15 guests. Every sail is personally hosted by the vessel's owner, who serves as both the onboard chef and a certified sommelier — a combination that sets Moana apart from every other private boat charter in Cancun. Guests consistently note that the food and beverage quality exceeds expectations, and that the owner's direct involvement gives the experience a level of care that larger operators simply can't match.
Additional information:
Capacity – Up to 15 guests per charter; the boat is never shared with outside groups.
Transportation – Transfers to and from the marina can be arranged for an additional cost; ask your host when booking.
Dock fee – A per-person dock fee charged by the port authority applies and is separate from the listing price.
Upgrades – Select food and beverage upgrades are available at an additional cost; your host can walk you through options before your sail.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of catamarans do you offer?
We offer different sizes of catamarans, but the one that includes freshly prepared food and a chef on board is a 40-foot Fountaine Pajot. It's in excellent condition and offers a very comfortable and stylish sailing experience.
Can we customize the tour itinerary?
Yes, we can modify the itinerary depending on weather conditions, wind direction, and speed. We’re also happy to adapt the menu to accommodate allergies or special dietary requirements.
Is music available onboard?
Yes! The catamarans are equipped with Bluetooth sound systems so you can play your favorite party playlist.
If we’re staying in the Riviera Maya, can we depart from there?
If you're staying in the Riviera Maya, we recommend making the short drive to Cancún for departure. Our catamaran is based in Cancún because the bay of Isla Mujeres offers calmer and more protected waters, making it the best area for sailing—even if you're coming from the Riviera Maya.
What is the dock fee and is it included in the price?
The dock fee is a mandatory charge set by the local port authority in Cancún and is not included in the charter price. It is collected per guest prior to boarding and goes directly to marina operations and environmental maintenance. We always inform guests in advance so there are no surprises on the day of your sail.
