I went on the Greenwich Village food and history tour with Lara, and it was spectacular. One of my favorite things about NYC is watching the architecture change around you as you are just naturally traversing the streets, but to have fascinating details and facts to supplement the view is enriching. It's not all ancient history either, all the women in the group swooned when we hit the two buildings that served as the exterior of the "Friends" apartment buildings. So, it's not just appealing to history and architecture nerds like me. Speaking of extra benefits, the food stops are well curated and thought out. There's savory and sweet choices, and they're these little local-owned shops so you feel good supporting these non-conglomerates. Each one offered up something delicious to try, though the hardest part was picking just one thing to leave room for all the other stops, however it was all perfectly sized to satiate cravings without leaving you heavy and slow. This tour is a great way to see the charm of the city, learn, try several great dishes, and get your steps in. I'm eager to sign up for another one when next I visit.
