Swedish Solstice Star Workshop

About this Experience

What you'll do:

Gather your favorite people for a cozy, hands-on creative night! You’ll learn to weave a traditional Swedish solstice star — a beautiful eight-pointed ornament symbolizing light during the darkest season. Using natural or hand-dyed reed and finishing ribbons, you’ll craft a star that’s approx. 10–12" across.

Your instructor, artist Kandyce Galanis, will guide your group step-by-step, teaching simple weaving techniques that are fun and beginner-friendly.

Expect relaxed conversation, a warm workshop atmosphere, and that satisfying “we made this together!” moment when everyone holds up their glowing stars for a group photo.

Everyone leaves with:

  • A finished large Swedish star to decorate for the holidays

  • New crafty skills you can totally use again at home

  • A keepsake that’s actually cute in pictures

Why we love it for your party:

  • Hands-on experiences spark more laughter, more connection, and better stories

  • This workshop offers the fun of a party with the added joy of making something beautiful and lasting

  • It’s perfect for friend groups, birthdays, holiday celebrations, creative date nights, team outings, or any occasion where you want to do something unique and local

  • The setting is cozy and social, and the final result looks incredible in photos
