What you'll do:

Whether you’re drawn to the aesthetics of clean lines (or chaos webs), looking for another tool for grounding and embodiment, or ready to get hot and heavy, shibari is a practice that meets you where you’re at. Rope can be all of these things and more - we just need to be brave enough to start.

Our Shibari 101: Why Knot is the class to get you started - no prior experience, partner, or gear required. You’ll learn core concepts for rope bondage and leave with enough knowledge to start immediately, no matter what your goal(s) are. This is a fully clothed, hands-on educational class held in our welcoming, queer-owned studio in the Historic Core of Downtown LA — not a play party, just a safe, low-pressure space to learn something new together.

We'll be breaking down the basics of consent, connection, and flow through fun, low-pressure exercises. You’ll learn foundational knots, explore how rope feels, and get answers to all the questions you’ve been holding onto. This class is participatory, so expect plenty of time to experiment, ask questions, and play.

• No prerequisites. No partner required. No pressure. 

• Switching (taking turns) is actively encouraged.

• Self-tying is welcome - we teach both solo and partnered variations of exercises.

• If you’ve got rope, you’re welcome to bring it, but we keep plenty of loaner rope on site.

Collectively, the owners, Andrew, Nora, and Melissa, have more than 45 years of experience learning and teaching the art of rope bondage. • Pricing: This group class starts at $600 for 2 hours. A longer lesson can be booked for an additional fee.

• Group Size: The experience is priced for a group of 8-12 people. Larger groups can be accommodated for an additional fee.

• Age Limit: Everyone attending must be over 18. We discuss adult topics, and the class is not appropriate for minors.

• Shibari is an inherently risky activity. We recommend practicing rope bondage sober. If anyone in your group is visibly inebriated or behaving erratically, we reserve the right to deny them entry, ask them to exit the learning space, or cancel the booking outright without a refund.

• Booking requires a minimum of 7 days' advance notice. Cancellations must be made at least 14 days in advance for a refund.
