This was an unexpectedly charming, intimate, and delightful dinner and show. Chef Gregory took time to explain every delicious course acknowledging his Southern upbringing and experiences. The entertainment was a duo playing Roots music paying homage to early Jazz and Blues. A terrific ending to our week in New Orleans. Check it your for yourself, you won’t be disappointed!

Shrimp Boil Cabaret was fantastic, and the food was AMAZING!! This was such a GREAT find. Entertainment was top notch. Gregory did a taste of the south tasting menu tonight along with the Shrimp Boil, it was a real treat. You can tell that Gregory really cares about the quality of product that he serves and everything tasted outstanding!!! The Shrimp and Crab au Gratin rival some of the finest restaurants in NOLA. Gregory gave us history of the recipes, where the shrimp was sourced from. Even the King cake was from a special bakery, not a store bought. I highly suggest you take advantage of this gem. It's a little outside of the normal touristy stuff, which is what makes it special.

This is an amazing cajun food experience. As Mr. Gregory said you won't get this food anywhere but in a real cajun household. This meal is about keeping traditions alive and also some history about cajun food. There were three tastings of different cajun dishes before the shrimp was laid out. It's a delicious spicy meal. We will be back. Thank you Mr. Gregory. I could really see the emotion you felt about the Mississippi River Delta and the food you make.

We had an outstanding time! The entertainment was great-fun and talented performers. The food was amazing. We loved the tastings that started the meal and the shrimp was the best either of us had ever had. Really very generous amounts of food and then ended with a great dessert. We loved hearing about the food sourcing and the preparation. Highly recommend!

Gregory's Shrimp Boil experience was amazing! Gregory is so warm and inviting, I love the ambience he's cultivated in his space, especially with the live performances. You really feel like your receiving a warm authentic New Orleans welcome and the food Gregory prepares is amazing! Highly recommend Gregory's Shrimp Boil Cabaret! P.S. You will certainly walk away with a full stomach! And Gregory is a great source for restaurant recommendations. His recommendation of Coops was spot on!

This experience was one of a kind and soooo wonderful. Mr. Gregory was a fantastic host and an even better cook. We started with some small appetizers but these appetizers were phenomenal. I’m sure it changes every time, but we had a stuffed crab, Alligator toast, And an oyster top with crab and remoulade sauce. Then he brought a shrimp, at first I was like I’m gonna want a second scoop, but it was the perfect amount. All while listening to amazing live music and getting history about New Orleans and the food we were eating. It was such a delightful experience that I would recommend to everyone. Do remember that it’s BYOB so bring your bevies - he has sodas and water.

This was our favorite experience in New Orleans. I love food experiences like this—where you don’t just eat incredible food, but also learn about the history of the regional cuisine and hear the stories of how everything makes its way to your table. We started with a crab gratin made with crabs from Bayou La Batre (yes, like Bubba), followed by alligator sausage and a crawfish sweet potato topped with a rich, buttery sauce. The pièce de résistance was the shrimp boil: gigantic brown shrimp, fresh off the boat, cooked to perfection and impeccably seasoned. I could actually taste the clove, which added a wonderful depth of flavor I hadn’t experienced in a boil before. Dessert was a traditional Christmas bouille—lightly sweet and the perfect way to end the meal. We don’t eat pork, and Gregory accommodated us seamlessly with advance notice. The Slick Skillet Serenaders added to the atmosphere with their traditional tunes, making the whole evening incredibly fun. I would do this once a week if I could. Thank you, Gregory.
