Samantha arrived early for us, for some great food and drinks in the tavern, then George took over for the Bayou tour. They were both wonderful. The patrons of the local tavern were amazing too … truly doesn’t get better! Thank you Samantha and George!

Captain George gave us an unforgettable experience! It was by far our favorite part of our couples New Orleans trip. You don’t just get to see the alligators (which captain George kisses!) but you get a full story and picture about life on the Bayou. The tour was better than we expected. The weather did not fully cooperate at first but George and his wife kept us occupied with their full bar, life stories and southern kindness until we took off. If you are looking for an amazing bayou tour, book with Happiness Tours and Captain George!

We had an absolute blast with Captain George. Treated us just like family. He is so knowledgeable about the area and I really felt like I walked away with a new perspective. Thank you again for the hospitality

Had an amazing time on this tour! A local family run place that has you feel so welcomed from the moment you get there. Skip other options that are over run, touristy and learn about the Bayou, Katrina, and anything else you could possibly want to with this while enjoying awesome drinks not crowded with people and a real one on one experience! Make sure to leave extra time to spend at the tavern as well as even the regular patrons added to this awesome experience.

This was the coolest thing I’ve ever done. Captain George is FULL of information and the best stories. We laughed so hard, we learned so much, we saw gators, big swamp rats, pelicans, crawfish, crabs, stopped by George’s camp - It was incredible. By the end of this tour I felt ready to move to the Bayou. After your tour, you have to stop by the tavern. Miss Sam and Cici at the bar were just the most pleasant and amazing people. And the FOOD WAS PHENOMENAL. Beers are cold, cheap, and the crawfish was delicious. We will be talking about this tour forever. Thanks George, Sammie, and Cici! You made us feel welcomed with open arms and we left with the best memories.

This tour was better than I could have imagined. Captain George is amazing! His stories are so interesting and he is very informative. Our group was looking for an authentic tour, not some overly commercialized bimbo transplant to the area, giving us a scripted tour. George has lived in this area his whole life, has all the bayou tea and is quick to make you feel comfortable. The tavern afterward is a MUST! The food is delicious and the staff and locals are so fun and welcoming! I can’t wait to be back!

Captain George gave us a great tour of the bayou. Saw plenty of gators, and learned a lot about bayou culture and history. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Went to the De Pope Tavern after and had the best crawfish of my life, with cheap drinks too. George and his wife are great people. You won't regret the trip out there.

We went on the boat tour with a large group of friends for a birthday party and Captain George was wildly entertaining and knowledgeable about the critters and denizens of the surrounding waterways. The tour was about 2 hours with a pit stop in the middle at his awesome cabin. When we returned, we had boiled crawfish and crabs, boudin balls, spinach dip and crab cakes, all prepared by his lovely wife, Samantha and the bartender. The food was so good, I had to take home some white beans and crab cakes! Just a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. De Pope Bar was a great place to gather and just hang out with the locals. Great prices, too!
