About this Experience

What you'll do:

You'll spend 90 minutes learning real self defense skills that work in real life — not choreography, not theory — delivered by an instructor who takes every hit with a smile and means every word of it.

  • Escape bear hugs and wrist grabs – Practice breaking free from the most common real-world grabs using body mechanics, not strength, so the technique works regardless of size.

  • Defend against chokes – Learn and drill the exact counter-moves for front and rear choke holds until the response is muscle memory, not guesswork.

  • Strike with your body's natural weapons – Identify and use the parts of your body built for impact, so you always have something to fight back with.

  • Put your skills to the test on the instructor – Jesse suits up and takes every hit, giving you the rare experience of applying what you've learned against a real person in a controlled, safe setting.

  • Walk away with slow-mo video proof – Every class includes photos and slow-motion video of you in action, so you leave with something to show for it.

Jesse runs every session with the intensity of a professional class and the energy of a group night out. By the end, you'll have techniques you can actually use — and a group of women who just got tougher together.

Why we love it for your party:

  • Real Krav Maga and Jiu-Jitsu techniques – You're learning from two of the most effective street-tested martial arts systems, taught in a way that's accessible from day one.

  • Certified instructor with world records – Jesse holds world records in fitness and has over a decade of teaching experience, including work with assault survivors and refugee communities.

  • Small groups, maximum 20 – Everyone gets hands-on attention and personal reps, not just a demo watched from the back of a room.

  • Built for bachelorette parties and girls' nights out – The structure, energy, and memorable format make this one of the most booked group experiences in Austin for a reason.

  • Photos and slow-mo video included – Content is captured throughout, so your group leaves with something to share that actually looks incredible.

About this experience partner:

Jesse founded Ballbusters Self Defense after a personal assault experience prompted him to master Krav Maga, Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, and street-defense tactics — then teach them to every woman who wanted to learn. He has since trained hundreds of women across Austin, including assault survivors and refugees, and holds world records in indoor cycling. He shows up in a pink spandex bodysuit, takes every hit with a smile, and gives every participant a high five after they drop him — because the point is that you can, and now you know it.

Additional information:

  • Group size – Classes accommodate up to 20 people; book early to secure your date.

  • What to wear – Athletic clothing and flat, closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended.

  • Hands-on format – This class includes live partner work and direct practice on the instructor; full participation is encouraged and safe.

  • Photography included – Photos and slow-motion video are captured during the session at no extra cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wait do we really get to kick you in the balls?!

Yes! Everyone who wants to have a real go can have their moment. I don’t want kids and I’ve got a bit of an advantage compared to other guys.

Can't you like die?

I attempted pro wrestling for a period of my life and discovered I have a unique talent, I can take a beating with a smile. Don't worry though everything is very safe and I'm fully insured. The ballbusting is controlled and ultimately for you to have fun and feel empowered.

What do we bring/wear?

I recommend athletic attire. Leggings/bike shorts are great with tennis shoes. If you have heels and want to bring them they make for excellent photos.

Do I need any prior experience or fitness level to join?

Not at all. This class is designed for complete beginners as well as people who’ve trained before. Everything is taught step-by-step, and you’ll be guided through each movement so you can go at your own pace. The focus is on real-world techniques that work under pressure, not athletic performance or perfection.

What if I don’t feel comfortable with certain drills or hitting the instructor?

That’s totally okay — participation is always encouraged, never forced. You can opt out of any drill or intensity level you’re not comfortable with at any time. The goal is to feel safe, supported, and confident, and the instructor will always adjust the experience so it works for you and your group.
