Studio, Sidewalk, or Sand: Three Ways to Learn to Two-Step with Shindigs
Somewhere on a stretch of Tybee Island beach, a group of women kicks off their shoes as the sun drops low, learning a country swing pattern with sand between their toes and zero pressure to get it right. A few hours north in Charleston, another crew is doing the same steps — minus the sand — inside a proper dance studio with a mirrored wall and a sound system built for exactly this. And back in Savannah, a bachelorette party is running through the same basic moves in someone's rental living room before they ever set foot in a honky-tonk downtown. Same company, same core skill set, three completely different rooms to learn it in.
