River Island Adventures

Our experience was phenomenal!!! We did tubing and kayaking we had a big group and we all enjoyed it very much! Jeff was very nice and I am excited for all the big plans he has for his place! We will come back to see all the new exciting ideas! His staff was wonderful, kind, amazing and friendly! Thank you for making this experience great! Also for all the patience with my group lol! This is a must activity to do if your down here!!

This place is amazing!! We have been before but always love our time at the River. This year we glamped in the fancy tent, played the super fun survivor game and kayaked to the island for extraordinary s’mores! Next on the wishlist is staying in the treehouse!

We did the river tubing and it was excellent the weather was perfect but besides that the staff was amazing. Would recommend. Nice little getaway and you wouldn’t even know your so close to the beach in this Blackwood River area.

I could not have been happier glamping here. We stayed here with our 5 kids(all in their teens and above). Not one of them complained about this place being nothing but amazing! Even our oldest(22) who has Down syndrome has asked to go back already. Everyone was so nice! Adventuring and exploring all this place has to offer was so nice! I cannot thank the owner and all involved for giving me and all of my family this amazing experience. We will absolutely be back!

RIA is a great way to spend the day with family and gave us something different to do while on our beach vacation. The owner Jeff actively works and engages with the guests which was really cool to see. Everyone there is super nice and helpful. We purchased the full day pass which gave us access to tubing, paddle boards and kayaks as well as the giant games they have set out. You will not be disappointed if you choose to spend your day here!

We live in myrtle beach and love coming out for a quick getaway. This was our first glamping experience, normally we pitch a tent, but this was way better. Already have another weekend booked. Highly recommend!!!

This is literally my favorite place to escape to! I live in Myrtle beach and it’s the worker getaway from all the tourists and craziness. There is so much to do…games, a projection screen, kayaking, shows…always a blast! The glamping tents are super spacious and comfortable Jeff is the most accommodating business owner I’ve ever met. He goes above and beyond for all of his guests!! Ask him to boil water in a bag over the fire! It’s super impressive!!’

We spent a whole week “glamping” at River Island Adventures. At first I didn’t know what to expect because even after years of following them on social media we finally decided to try it out years later. All I can say is I wish we have done this earlier. We loved the place so much. The easy going employees and owners were great! They have so many things available to do for kids and adults. On the camping ground they have games, swings, some toys, fire pit, grills and much more. They have a ton of excursions to try out as well! We had planned for something different each day, all day unlimited tubbing or kayaking, then a kayak tour, and last but definitely not least, escaping river island game... what a fun time this was. If you are thinking twice about river island, don’t! Go all in, bring friends or family and have a blast!

River Island is an awesome get away! Jeff has a lot for people of all ages to do out there. We went tubing down the river and it was very relaxing! Great hospitality as well, we grilled out on the propane grill and ate s'mores by the fire.

We had an AMAZING time river tubing. A relaxing time going down the river to the island and being able to enjoy the views and the natural aspects of South Carolina! An awesome experience! Everyone was super hospitable and that cooler was such a great addition! Thank you to the owner and staff for a beautiful time!

You can do glamping and kayaking at the river as a guided tour. Rwall6fun for the whole family.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! This is a must do for anyone wanting a fun glamping adventure. We rented the treehouse on the private island and it is absolutely amazing. You feel completely secluded but it’s so comfy and there’s so many fun games and areas to explore. We had a BLAST doing the survival game. Not to mention the owner is extremely nice and so accommodating.

Easy online booking, very friendly and helpful staff. We rented two single kayaks for an hour with life preservers provided. They recommended a route for us to follow. It was peaceful and beautiful. Paddling up-river was a little challenging but it was worth being able to float down on our way back. There were zero mosquitos out this time of year (late September). We didn’t see much wildlife on the Waccamaw River, other than a few egrets. We also played cornhole at the boards they had out. They have glamping tents on high wooden platforms with queen-sized beds, rechargeable fans, and power packs and a nice outdoor kitchen, flushing toilets, and showers. There was also an adventure river escape happening that day which looked really fun. Overall, they have a lot to do. Highly recommend.

Ladies Group did a tubing event, but they also let some of try paddleboards and other Kayak. This is the #1 reason we choose them because they let us try difference things rather than just the tubing. Great thing to do. We had a great time, did a picnic follow up. Clean , nice facility

The staff was awesome and did everything to make us feel comfortable and gave great instruction. We would definitely do it again. Oh by the way we range in age from 47 to 66. Never too old to learn and have a great time doing so.

This amazing property is a lot of fun! River island adventures makes you want to go glamping (and that's not even close to Kyle thing), and is so inviting with the tubing, jet skis, kayak, camping, fire pits, grills and yard games. We competed in the super fun escape from River Island that our family of three competed in. This is part Amazing Race part Survivor part escape room we could do this over and over and over again. We would come back to Myrtle Beach for this adventure alone! There are 10 obstacles and the final challenge is the paddle battle to kayak a half a mile up to the finish line. This group has amazing things planned for this property. We can't wait to come back again with all of the planned activities they have. From glamping tents to Treehouse camping and the future plans of a Survivor Island. We would be most excited for the floating Tiki Bar that can serve cocktails as you are kayaking! We can't wait to visit again and see all the progress here, at the already amazing facility!

We were there in October 2021. It was our first time camping. My two daughters loved the river tubing and the late night fire pit and hammocks. The atmosphere is so serene. The bathrooms and showers are beautiful. We were definitely in touch with nature. Very nice place to camp with many things to do as well. The staff is very professional and friendly. As first timers, they help us a lot. Definitely would recommend this place to everyone.

Stayed here through air bnb with my fiance. They offer several experiences from glamping to good ol' fashioned camping. We glamped and hung out for the weekend and loved every second of it! 100% recommend. We also kayaked and will return to do their island adventure challenges!

We Kayaked and went tubing and played at the River outpost and grilled up some yummy food. Staff was super nice and helpful.

What an amazing experience. Myself, my husband and our four kids (15, 12. 11 and 8) had a blast. From the games at the campsite, to tubing down the river, exploring the island and kayaking each moment was filled with smiles and fun family time. We’ll be sure to come back next year for more family fun. The staff were all amazing. Highly recommend.

Came here for a bachelorette party and had a blast. The staff were very kind and accommodating. The activities were fun, it was a combination of mind puzzles and active games (racing to complete a there-and-back task). We had a chance to kayak for 30 mins after too!

We loved, loved, loved this adventure. Jeff, the owner was very engaging and Camden our game moderator was fantastic. He explained the rules with great detail and answered all our questions. When a few of our party finished hot and exhausted the staff was quite concerned and offered cold waters and showers. What a fantastic day.

Such a fun time! My friend and I did the 2 hour Survivor Games and had so much fun. It stormed a little bit during so we had a quick pause but once it cleared we resumed like normal. We’re definitely planning to go again next year and do the 4 hour challenge

What an awesome place!! Took Valorous academy there today for a field trip. So much fun, bugs were minimal, but the games were awesome! Staff is great and so welcoming and patient with our kids. Truly an awesome experience. Thank you guys, keep on keeping on!

They say love is in the details and this place is a labor of love. Booked the treehouse as a last minute adventure & it was a great. The treehouse is by itself on a remote island only accessible by pontoon or kayak and you get one round trip on the pontoon a day so we planned our meals accordingly to grill and cook at the treehouse. The treehouse itself runs on solar and generator with a portable AC which was a lifesaver in mid July. There are kayaks, SUPs and so many games at the cabin and there is also the Survivor style obstacle course. The Escape game was with this entire trip for my son and husband. It was a unique bonding experience and they will talk about it forever. I wish Jeff and his crew all the of success because this place is a hidden gem with endless potential.

My daughter surprised me with this adventure. I had no clue what we were going to do. I’m a huge reality game fan and this made me feel like I was auditioning for one of them. So many laughs, and an amazing memory we shared here on our outing!! Thanks so much for this experience!!

We did escape river island for my bachelorette party and it was SUCH a great experience! We had no idea it would be as legit as it was! The woman who got us into the kayaks was so sweet and Jeff was a freaking blast. The games are well planned, and thought out. We all said we would love to come back to do the glamping! Thank you to everyone at river island for making it such a cool experience and such a good vibe for me and my crew!

We brought a bunch of Cub Scouts out for a weekend and they had a great time. There is a lot of room for doing group activities. The common area was nice. The boys enjoyed the playground and games. We will definitely be back because we didn't have time to get out to the island. The bathroom and shower facilities are nicer than we expected. Jeff is awesome! I highly recommend bringing mosquito repellent. Trust me.

If you have ever wanted to play games like you see on Survivor TV show you really need to check it out and the host and owner of River Island Adventures is named Jeff like Jeff from the Survivor Show, he was a great host of the games My husband loves to watch Survivor on TV so this was my gift to him for our Wedding Anniversary.
