About this Restaurant
What you'll experience:
You walk into Herb & Bitter and immediately understand what Capitol Hill's bar scene does best: intimate, unhurried, and built around drinks that actually reward your attention.
New American Menu – Rotating seasonal dishes pitched at elevated casual, satisfying whether you're eating light at the bar or settling in for a full dinner.
Amaro & Cocktail Bar – One of Seattle's most considered amaro selections sits behind the bar alongside craft cocktails that balance bitter, herbal, and spirit-forward profiles.
Happy Hour Value – From 4–5 pm, food drops 25%, and bar is 50% off; bar is half-price again from 9 pm to close, making this one of Capitol Hill's best-value happy hours on both ends of the evening.
Indoor/Outdoor Atrium – A covered atrium blends the ease of outdoor seating with the warmth of being inside, making it a comfortable spot year-round, regardless of Seattle weather.
Cozy Indoor Seating – The interior wraps around you, low-lit, relaxed, and designed to make you linger over a second round rather than rush you out.
Herb & Bitter earns its place as a neighborhood anchor not by being loud about it, but by being consistently good, the kind of bar you bring people to when you want to actually impress them without making a production of it.
Why we love it for your date night or group night out:
Reservations Suggested – Securing your table in advance means you arrive at a seat, not a wait, especially during happy hour when the room fills fast.
Full Bar with Craft Cocktails – Whether your group drinks wine, beer, or wants to work through the amaro list, everyone at the table has something specific to look forward to.
Double Happy Hour Windows – Two discount windows, 4–5 pm and 9 pm to close, give your group flexibility to plan around dinner rather than racing against a single cutoff.
Elevated Casual Vibe – Dressy enough to feel like a real night out, relaxed enough that no one feels out of place, the right register for a birthday dinner, date night, or low-key celebration.
Starting at $21.50 – The price point sits squarely in the elevated casual range, letting you eat and drink well without the anxiety of a fine-dining bill at the end of the night.
Reservations are suggested, and walk-ins are welcome based on availability. The experience works equally well as a two-hour happy hour stop or a full evening.

About the neighborhood
You're in North Capitol Hill, one of Seattle's most walkable and distinctly local pockets, far enough from the tourist corridor to feel like a real neighborhood, close enough to everything that you won't need to plan around transit. Herb & Bitter sits within a cluster of independently owned bars and restaurants that reward wandering before or after your reservation. Capitol Hill is lively without being overwhelming, and the north end in particular draws the kind of crowd that takes its food and drinks seriously.
