Had a beautiful weekend at Walnut Canyon Cabins this weekend! The Milky Way Cabin was so comfortable and cozy! Sat on the porch every evening and fed the deer even though the weather wasn’t cooperative had a great quite weekend in the hill country! I will be going back!!

2nd time staying here and it does not fail. The Wife and I love everything about here very peaceful and get to see alot of dear roaming around we highly recommend. The Walnut Cabins also Carl and Rhonda are very amazing people.

The cabin has everything I needed for the weekend. Quiet, peaceful, and beautiful area. The hosts were great. Easily reachable and very friendly.

I can not say enough about this place! When we arrived for check in I wasn’t expecting to feel like family. I stay out of town a lot for work and Carl and Rhonda blew me away. You were just welcomed at the cabins you are welcomed into their home. Shared a drink, stories and views of the Canyon and deer. Walking into The Woods Cabin we were met with a beautiful cool room with an amazing view. Due to the romantic getaway we were met with delicious wine, flowers and homemade chocolates. OMG the chocolates were heaven made by our wonderful hosts!!!! Get the chocolates you won’t be disappointed. The attention to detail of the cabin was remarkable. If you needed it I promise it was there. Even down to ice in the freezer and seasons in the cabinet. I can not wait for our next stay at “our” cabin. And to see our friends Carl and Rhonda. Promise this place will not disappoint:

I live in San Antonio and this is my favorite place to get out of the city and just relax. The cabins are cute with beautiful views, you can actually see the stars at night, they give you breakfast including fresh eggs and delicious smoked ham, plus the owners are just wonderful people who are responsive and help with everything you need. Definitely a must stay. I try to go at least once a year.

Wonderful hosts and clean cabin! This was our second time staying there and my family and I had a great time. Location may be a bit of drive from main Fredericksburg activities but if you’re looking for a weekend to “unplug” (as there’s no wi fi in the cabins), this is a fantastic place. There are deer roaming about in the property, as well as a small farm with lovely cows and chickens. Our first grader loved every minute of it and he was sad to leave. Our favorite moment was stargazing in the hot tub. Sky was so clear! There’s a small cafe restaurant not too far from the lodging (not walkable), as well as the smallest state park in Texas where you can watch millions of bats come out of the cave at night from May to October (ticket required). Highly recommend it for couples, friends, or a family trip!

We stayed at Walnut Cabin in October 2025 What a wonderful experience So cozy, well furnished and everything you could need on hand with a well stocked fridge which sorted out 4 cooked breakfasts. This place is absolutely breathtaking. I brought my mother here from Ohio to celebrate my birthday and we had such a great time. The cabin was so quaint and clean. We loved having coffee on the porch while feeding the deer. We enjoyed the fresh breakfast items provided. Feeding the cows may have been the highlight of my weekend. Carl and Rhonda are a delight and super accommodating. Can’t wait to come plan my next visit.

This stay was everything we expected and more! We stayed in the milkyway cabin and got the most beautiful view of the moon and stars. This is the perfect getaway if you’re looking for some tranquility with you and your loved one. We got a taste of the Texas nature spirits, and threw out some deer feed they provided. Two minutes later we were surrounded by deer in the hot tub! We fed the friendly cows on our way out and the owners did everything they could to made us comfortable providing an organic breakfast that we were able to cook in the morning by ourselves. We will be returning.

We was there for two nights. The owners Carl and Rhonda are very friendly and directly when you arrive you will feel well. The breakfast ingredients are in the fridge and therefore you can enjoy whenever you want. Everything in the cabin is very clean. What we liked so much are the deers very close to the balcony. We can recommend the Walnut Canyon Cabins.

We had a VERY enjoyable weekend at Walnut Canyon Cabins. We agree with the other reviews that boast on the hosts - Carl and Rhonda. They were so friendly. Carl called us while on our way to the cabin helping to insure our directions and safe arrival. The cabin was adorable! Love the views. The hot tub hit the spot after a day out of wondering the quaint town of Fredericksburg. Definitely would recommend!!
