What you'll do:

Collage & Connect was created to empower adults to reclaim their inner creative gifts and prove we are all artists in life.

Many adults “lost” touch with their creativity and actually believe they don’t have a creative bone in their body. Narratives and limitations from society cause adults to believe they are not creative if they are not a “traditional” artist.

At this workshop, you will make a unique piece of art. Every collage is truly unique to the creator and won’t be your typical sip-and-paint class where everyone paints the same thing. Comparison gets removed because each participant will create their own beautiful collage. There is no skill or previous experience required, just show up and

Let's create some dope art!

This class allows you to disconnect from technology and life’s distractions and just explore for fun! We’ll sit around making a mess, listening to music, and making art.

All materials are provided and all you need to bring is your curiosity!

At the end of the workshop, we will all connect by looking at each other’s collages. We’ll take turns writing down what we like about the art on the back of the collage. End of the school yearbook style and we hype one another up.

Steve Ecker is an artist who have been teaching collage workshops in Austin since 2022. Steve found collaging to be a great way to disconnect from technology and express himself through art. He creates spaces to awaken the artist within and show you that can also make collages easily.

Steve has taught thousands of people how to collage through his Collage and Connect workshops in Austin. He teaches workshop classes at RichesArt, Griffin High School, and Texas School of the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Steve believes everyone is an artist and we just have to rediscover our creative powers. Let's rip stuff up together!
