Island Head Savannah offers convenient and reliable round-trip ferry service from Savannah to Freeport Marina on Daufuskie Island, making it easy to experience one of the Lowcountry’s most unique and secluded destinations. Enjoy a smooth and scenic ride across the water as you take in views of the surrounding marshes, waterways, and coastal wildlife along the way.

With a transit time of approximately 45 minutes each way, our ferry provides a comfortable and efficient way to reach the island without the hassle. Guests are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to departure to allow for check-in and boarding.

Once on Daufuskie Island, you’ll have several hours to explore at your own pace. Known for its rich history, quiet charm, and relaxed atmosphere, the island is perfect for a day trip. Rent a golf cart, visit local shops and restaurants, explore historic sites, or simply unwind and take in the natural beauty. You can even add a golf cart rental onto your reservation.

We offer multiple departure options to fit your schedule, including 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM and 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with approximately 7 hours of round-trip time. Whether you're planning a laid-back day or a full island adventure, our ferry service provides a seamless and enjoyable way to experience Daufuskie Island.

Additional information:

• Guests should park in the Savannah Convention Center parking lot, located directly across from the marina. This is the most convenient and accessible parking area for our departures. Please note that there is a parking fee, which is managed by the Convention Center and may vary seasonally.

• After parking, please walk across the bridge to the marina entrance gate. Your captain will meet you directly at the gate for check-in and escort you to the boat.

• If you are arriving via car service or rideshare, you may be dropped off by the EmmaJames apartment complex, on the side closest to the bridge, which provides easy access to the marina entrance.

• We recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to departure time to allow for parking and check-in.
