About this Experience
What you'll do:
You and your group get a private walking tour of New York City led by a licensed, local guide who knows these neighborhoods well enough to tell you what the plaques leave out. Choose from four distinct routes covering Midtown, Soho, Little Italy and Chinatown, or the Lower East Side, each running about two and a half hours for groups of two to twenty people.
Midtown Manhattan: Walk past Times Square, Grand Central Terminal, Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and the Empire State Building while your guide fills in the history and street-level stories behind each landmark.
Soho: Take in the cast-iron architecture that makes Soho unlike any other Manhattan neighborhood, and hear how this former industrial district became one of the city's most recognizable corridors.
Little Italy and Chinatown: Move through two of Manhattan's most storied immigrant enclaves and learn how each community shaped the culture, food, and street life of lower Manhattan over more than a century.
Lower East Side: Pass churches, synagogues, Katz's Deli, Russ and Daughters, Economy Candy, the Angel Orensanz Center, Orchard Street, and the Williamsburg Bridge as your guide traces the layered immigrant history of one of New York's most culturally dense neighborhoods.
Private format: Every tour runs as a private group experience, so your guide sets the pace, answers your questions, and tailors the conversation to what your group finds most interesting.
All 4 routes are available for booking, and groups can focus on one neighborhood or ask about combining stops across areas.
Why you'll love it for your group:
First-timers and repeat visitors: The guides know how to pitch the material for guests who have never been to New York and for people who have visited a dozen times but never slowed down enough to look closely.
Birthday and bachelorette groups: A two-and-a-half-hour private tour gives a celebration group something to do together that is genuinely fun and easy to build a full day around.
Team outings: Companies use these tours for team-building because they get people talking and moving without requiring any special gear or prior knowledge.
Family reunions: The tours welcome guests from age five to seniors, which makes this one of the few group activities that works for an extended family traveling together.
Flexible group size: Private tours accommodate two to twenty guests, so the format works whether your group is intimate or closer to a full charter.
