What you'll do:

Ready to build on what you learned in Why Knot? This intermediate class picks up where the basics leave off — more advanced ties, deeper technique, and more nuanced conversation around tension, flow, and readiness for more complex work. Perfect for groups with some knowledge and returning guests ready to take their rope practice further.

Our instructors will work with you in advance to gauge the knowledge base of you and your group. From there, we will design a custom curriculum to fit your learning goals and the time we have together.

We can focus on topics including:

• rope handling

• pattern construction

• connection with ourselves and our tying partners

You Should Know:

• This class will be best suited for those with some existing proficiency in shibari. If you have attended our Why Knot class or another introductory shibari class and are comfortable constructing a non-tightening cuff, we can go from there!

• Switching (taking turns) and self-tying are likely not appropriate for this class, depending on the material covered.

• If you’ve got rope, you’re welcome to bring it, but we keep plenty of loaner rope on site. We also have rope for sale (see the FAQ).

• Age Limit: Everyone attending must be over 18. We discuss adult topics, and the class is not appropriate for minors.

• Shibari is an inherently risky activity. We recommend practicing rope bondage sober. If anyone in your group is visibly inebriated or behaving erratically, we reserve the right to deny them entry, ask them to exit the learning space, or cancel the booking outright without a refund.

• Group Size: The experience is recommended for a group of 6-10 people (3-5 pairs). Larger groups can be accommodated for an additional fee.
