What is permanent jewelry?
Permanent jewelry refers to the process where you choose a beautiful, fine metal chain that is then fitted and expertly welded closed without a clasp. A clasp can be added on for those that want a non-permanent option.
Can my permanent jewelry be removed?
Yes! You can remove your permanent jewelry by taking shears or nail clippers and cutting at the jump ring. Please only cut the jump ring that was previously welded and keep your chain so it can be reapplied at a future date if you choose.
How long does permanent jewelry last?
Depends on the metal of your choosing and how you care for your jewelry. Sterling Silver and Solid Gold will last forever in terms of metal quality. The weld should last for many years to come but accidents do happen. 14k gold-filled can last between 5-10 years. PVD Stainless can last between 1-3 years.
What is 14k Gold-Filled?
14k gold-filled has a thick layer of solid 14k gold mechanically bonded to a base layer core (usually brass) using heat and pressure. By law, the solid gold must make up at least 5% of the items total weight. Because of the heavy layer of real gold, it contains up to 100x more gold than typical gold-plated jewelry. With proper care, it resists tarnishing, flaking, and rubbing off for up to 10 years. The outer surface is genuine 14k gold, meaning it has the same appearance, hypoallergenic properties, and warmth as solid gold. It’s a great affordable alternative to solid gold.
If I want a 14k solid gold chain, how do I request it?
When you book your appointment, please specify in the answer box of the first question regarding specific chains your party is interested in. Solid gold is ordered by request only so please provide a guest count on how many people will want solid gold, and the type of chain your party is wanting. If this is something your party is interested in, please send a request at least 3 weeks before your appointment date to ensure the chain arrives in time. An additional larger deposit will be required to lock in the availability of solid gold and price will be determined based on order cost.
