We were recommended to Paul by my brother as he had earlier been to Mexico in 2025. Chose the chichen itza, cenote and valladolid trip to get a feel for Mexico and a bit of history. Paul was absolutely great and made the day one to remember. He is very knowledgeable, very easy to get on with and you won't regret booking with him. Got some great photos and vids at each site, egged me on to swing into the cenote (thanks Paul), tried some local drinks and had some great street food. He will take you for food drink based on your preferences. All in all a great time was had by my family and would definitely book another trip should we return to Mexico.

Personalised tour, great recommendations, great service, full marks. Paul was absolutely fantastic. Before we arrived he took the time to understand our interests and personalised the tour for what we wanted to do. He was able to take things we said we were interested in and and build them into what we did, from Chichen Itza to a relatively unknown Cenote to recommendations for beaches and restaurants, I’d recommended him every time.

This was our 2nd day trip with Paul. We had enjoyed our trip to Chichen Itza with him so much that we asked him to devise a day for us around snorkelling with turtles. Our day included: - Manta Ray spotting in Puerto Morelos; - snorkelling with turtles at Akumal; - a beautiful, relaxing cenote with 4 pools; - detour through Playa del Carmen for hot chocolate and cake; - authentic, rustic Mexican lunch; - a jungle walk - highlight was seeing a troop of spider monkeys. Paul is friendly, professional, multilingual and very knowledgeable. Nothing is too much trouble for him and my husband and I and our 2 grown sons enjoyed both our days with him immensely and they made our holiday in Mexico worthwhile and memorable. Paul also took lots of photos which is a lovely added bonus. Book Paul for any trip and you will certainly not regret it.

Our group went on a tour with Paul and we were amazed by his knowledge of local culture and the ancient history of Chichén Itzá. The tour allowed a great deal of flexibility and Paul catered to our interests. He took us to a beautiful cenote and we spent time at a local town where we had a delicious meal. Very thankful for our experience and we thoroughly enjoyed this tour. I highly recommend Paul to anyone interested in a private tour, he also takes amazing pictures!

Paul was an amazing tour guide for my friends and I when we visited Cancun in July. It was a blast going to spend the day at Chichen Itza and learn a lot of history you won’t get by reading the signs. It’s great having a private tour so we could curate how long we’d like to be and what to do. The food places we stopped at were very good and reasonably priced for us tourists. We had a dietary restriction and he was able to find us a restaurant that had everything everyone could eat. Paul had enough water for everyone to get throughout the day and there was always time to go get something at a shop if we wanted to. This tour was absolutely amazing, I’d recommend it to anyone coming to Mexico.

We, a family of four, booked a day trip with Paul to Chichen Itza and Cenote, and it was the highlight of our trip to Mexico. From the start, he was exceptionally organized. We were staying in Moon Palace, and he reached out to us the day before with details about what to bring to the trip such as caps and swimsuits to swim in the Cenote. He meticulously confirmed our pickup location to avoid confusion and arriving right on time. We started early in the morning around 6: 30 am at Paul's suggestion. He understood the importance of starting early to beat the heat and the crowds at the Chichen Itza and secured our tickets in advance through a friend to save time. On reaching Chichen Itza, Paul elaborately explained to us the significance of each monument. He outdid himself when he offered to capture our pictures and even suggested some impressive poses for the photos and candid shots. We even got to dribble the famed rubber ball from the Mayan ball game. Throughout the trip, he shared fascinating insights into the history of the Mayan civilization, weaving in joyful and personal anecdotes that made the experience even more memorable. For lunch, he took us to a local spot for authentic Mayan cuisine which was an absolute delight. Soon after the lunch, we headed to Oxman Cenote. Here again, Paul was our personal photographer recording those adventurous moments when we jumped into the Cenote and swam together as a family. While we loved visiting the historical sites, what truly stood out was getting to know him. He was warm, professional, and thoughtful from beginning to end. He took the time to get to know us and tailored the experience to match our preferences, offering helpful recommendations for future trips along the way. It was more than just a tour, it was a personalized, enriching journey led by someone who genuinely cares about making your experience unforgettable. Thank you Paul for the wonderful trip!!!

Paul is probably the greatest tour guide, no, greatest person to ever roam the planet, even greater than Jordan, Brady, Messi, anyone. If you're second guessing whether or not to book this tour, do it because you definitely won't regret it. To put it bluntly, Paul is a life saver. Me and Paul had a tour in Afghanistan, and Paul threw himself onto a grenade to save us all and miraculously survived. When I was injured and required a lung transplant, Paul literally ripped out his own lung on the spot and surgically implanted it into my body and I was able to pull through. If Paul had a favorite country, it'd be Nepaul. Thank you Paul! Now, about the tour, it's pretty fun, hot during the summer, and probably will have a lot of people. The cenote's really great though. It was only two days, and it feels like it's been a lifetime with him. BOOK THIS!!

We had an incredible experience with Paul during our trip to Mexico. From start to finish, the service was absolutely five-star. He was so accommodating and genuinely attentive to how we were feeling on the day, adapting plans when needed. We had a great itinerary.. including Chichen Itza, Ek Balam, Valladolid, cenotes, and snorkelling. There was also plenty of flexibility within the itinerary, which was perfect given how hot it could get some days. The whole experience felt personal, relaxed, and really well looked after. It was clear that Paul was passionate about sharing the beauty and culture of Mexico, and we felt like we were in the best hands. And as a great bonus Paul took amazing photos and videos for us throughout the day! Honestly, it was like having our own personal content creator… perfect for the memories and the socials! We highly recommend Paul!!

We were recommended to do a tour with Paul in Cancùn and we chose to aim to Isla Blanca early morning to enjoy wildlife and virgin beaches - fantastic ! Big plus, he shared pictures from the trip of an outstanding quality (birds, landscapes, etc) ! I have to say Paul is himself part of the experience as being funny, open-minded, multilingual, passionate about Mexico’s culture and wildlife, which made this trip enjoyable and friendly. Paul is very responsive and client-oriented, communication by WhatsApp was smooth and precise. During the trip, we were lucky enough to spot a wide variety of birds, counting a - young - great black hawk, pelicans, osprey and many others! In a nutshell, if you are in Cancùn or planning a trip to Yucatán, don’t hesitate. Thanks again Paul ! PS: Paul’s mythical Beetle is part of the experience

Please book Paul! We had 2 trips out with Paul this one with Chitchen Itsa and Cenote and also a full tour of Cancun (old and new). Both were amazing and made even more special because of Paul and his enthusiasm, knowledge, recommendations and just being a top guy. He also gave us tonnes of info for the rest of our holiday. The free photos and videos are a complete added bonus too! Brilliant!

Paul gave us an unforgettable, top-notch experience exploring one of the wonders of the world—at an unbeatable price! If you're in Cancun and planning a visit to Chichen Itza, skip the crowded group tours and book a private tour with Señor Travel Bug Mexico. Paul goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. We did all we wanted in just 11.5 hours—no long entry lines, no unnecessary delays. After all our research, no one offered a better deal. Highly recommend!

AMAZING Private Experience! We had an incredible day from start to finish. We started early and beat the crowds at Chichén Itzá, which was fantastic. Paul was an excellent guide—fun, engaging, and informative. He made the whole experience enjoyable for our entire family. One of the nicest touches was that Paul took photos of us throughout the day—beautiful, candid moments we’ll truly cherish forever. It was so thoughtful and allowed us to just enjoy the experience without worrying about capturing every shot. After exploring, we enjoyed a delicious traditional lunch in a more secluded, authentic spot. The food was amazing and served by warm, genuine people. Our girls especially loved it! To top it all off, we visited a cenote—such a fun and unforgettable experience for everyone. Riding in the bug was a blast—smooth and comfortable—and Paul was a very safe, cautious driver. Truly a memorable day—off the beaten path, we couldn’t have asked for better, we are a globetrotting family and this tour is at the top of our list. Thank you Paul, we will be back for another adventure very soon

Paul’s local knowledge enabled us to see, do, learn, and taste much more than we could have managed without his expertise. Amazing sights, great info, great conversation. Paul was prepared with all the supplies we needed, kept a good schedule that didn’t feel rushed but made sure we had time for everything we wanted, took amazing photos and video, and had local connections that made us feel like visiting friends, not tourists. He really leveled up our vacation!

We had the most amazing tour with Paul. We wanted to go off the beaten track a little, see some wildlife and get a sense of how life in Mexico is. Well it certainly met our expectations and much much more. Beautiful Isla blanca, fantastic authentic Mexican food with beautiful views, a secret church and the delights of Cancun square- the day was full of truly unforgettable moments. Paul was very knowledgable with many interesting anecdotes from living in Mexico for so long. He took time and attention to understand what we wanted from our day as a family of four with a 6 and 8 year old. Even though we used the Q5 for most of the day which we chose for the AC, Paul kindly stopped at home at the end of the day to swap for the beetle for the last leg so we could experience it- just fantastic! Thank you Paul, we will be back again!

Paul was outstanding! He was knowledgeable about all the sites, as was Fabi our local Mayan guide at the ruins. The Beetle was very fun to be in. It was a little tight, but the ride was a lot of fun and brought some good laughs with the teenagers who foundly remember their grandpa's Beetle. Paul's pictures were great! He knew the best locations to snap family photos and had us smiling and laughing the entire trip, which is no small tasks with teenagers. Made a great local restaurant recommendation and was flexible with our stops and activities. I would highly recommend this tour or any other tour that Paul is doing or coordinating. If you are going to Cancun area, don't hesitate to hire him for any trip.

Our day trip to Chichén Itzá, the cenote, and Valladolid with Paul was truly unforgettable. From the moment he picked us up exactly on time at our hotel, everything was seamless. Paul is incredibly knowledgeable — he shared fascinating insights about every stop, from the rich history of Chichén Itzá to the hidden gems around Valladolid that we would’ve never discovered on our own. What really made the experience stand out was Paul’s genuine passion for what he does. As a special touch, he also happens to be an amazing photographer! He captured beautiful, natural moments of me and my family throughout the day — memories we’ll cherish forever.

TLDR: Let me save you some time. If you’ve gotten this far looking for a tour guide to Chichén Itzá, you should just book Paul now. You will not find a better option in all of Mexico. Honestly, book him for two different tours. You can thank me later. Full Review: If you’re like me, you want to go to Chichén Itzá, you’d rather not ride a bus, you prefer a more personal experience, and you want someone who knows what they’re doing. This is the service Paul provides and he is an excellent guide. My family (44m, 44f, 16m, 12m) took his Chichén Itzá tour over spring break and it was a highlight of our trip. (Even my 12-year-old son said it would be worth a trip back to Cancún just to go on another tour with Paul.) Paul is an old school world traveler. He has lived in and visited cities and countries around the world. He has embraced the wonder that is the Yucatan Peninsula and he enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge. The drive is 2.5 hours one way, yet he makes the trip interesting and entertaining. He was very attentive to our needs and interests, and he wanted to ensure we had a great day. It felt more like spending the day with the friend of a friend, than a guided visit to a museum. Visiting Chichén Itzá was an experience that will be a life long memory. With the early start, we walked into the grounds just moments after they opened, and were able to experience the highlights of the ruins before the crowds descended (and boy were there crowds). Paul provided excellent insight on the ruins and really helped to bring the history to life. He was able to give details and context you could never get in a group tour. We walked around the ruins for 3+ hours and there wasn’t a dull moment. (As we were leaving, the lines at the turnstiles coming in had to have been 100 people deep, and the buses were backed up waiting for spots to clear in the parking lot. Don’t get here late). For lunch, Paul suggested a taco place that’s more popular with locals than tourists (La Tía De Kaua). It was amazing. If you like tacos, this is the place for you. There is no menu, just pork or sausage. We got both and ate enough for a small village. After lunch, we hit up a cenote for some swimming, and it was just what we needed. Even in early April the temps were near 100F and the cool water of the cenote was refreshing. Our boys loved the rope swing, and were disappointed when it was time to leave. Now we get to how Paul set himself apart from the other guides. Like most tours, we planned to visit and explore Valladolid next. The city looks very much worth a visit, but for several reasons, we just weren’t feeling it that day, and decided to head back towards Cancun. Paul could have just taken us back to the hotel, finished up early, and I would have considered it a great day. Instead, using what he learned about us, he suggested an alternative place to visit on the way home. At his recommendation, we visited the Shrine to Mary Undoer of Knots. We had not even heard of the shrine before, but it was absolutely perfect. The shrine is gorgeous and deeply moving. In visiting it, Paul gave us a personally meaningful experience above and beyond any of our expectations. I have had the privilege to travel to many places and I’ve had hundreds of guides, docents, hosts, park rangers, and the like. Paul is simply world class as a guide. He is the definition of professional, and one of the very best I’ve ever worked with. I recommend him without reservation and I would tour with him again in a heartbeat. Book his tour, you won’t regret it.

We asked Paul ( Señor Travel Bug) to plan a week-long vacation for our family. Our goal was to stay in Cancún, but experience a wide range of highlights the region has to offer, as well as some typical resort vacation pleasures. Paul carefully planned and recommended tours and activities, including important cultural sites like Chichen Itzá and Tulum, as well as some of the natural wonders of the region like different cenotes and wildlife reserves. We got to experience small towns and local cuisine, as well as some of the nightlife and beaches that draw tourists to the area. Paul considered our wishes, preferences and budget when curating our itinerary. We were presented with options and projected costs for each day, so that we could make informed decisions and not be surprised by unexpected costs. On our tours with Paul, we benefitted from his extensive knowledge of the area and his photography skills, which allowed us to document our adventures while fully focussing on the experience rather than having to take our own pictures. Touring in the beetle certainly added to the fun! Some days, we explored on our own, following Paul’s excellent recommendations of places to go and things to do in the area, including one day at an all-inclusive hotel to get a taste of this type of vacation also. We could not have asked for a better week and our family made incredible memories! For an attentive, knowledgeable, and fun expert of the Cancun area and beyond, we highly recommend Señor Travel Bug for all your travel needs. Muchas Gracias, Paul! Julia & Family

We spent a wonderful day with Paul in his VW touring Chichen Itza, plunging into a refreshing cenote and touring Valladolid. The locations themselves were great, Paul is very knowledgeable and fun, but what we appreciated the most was that the tour went at our pace without feeling rushed in any way. We also loved the little place he brought us for lunch, which is off the beaten track and the tourist buses. He made us feel special and we appreciated how he documented our day with him with lots of pictures. I would greatly recommend this particular tour but I would also check out his other tours (we would do the food tour if we had more time in Mexico). Paul clearly loves Mexico and the area, and his enthusiasm for what Mexico has to offer is very infectious. Thanks again Paul, we hope to meet again!

We really wanted to see Chichen Itza but was worried about how long the big tour trips were, some quoting 16-18 hours. I didn’t want the usual waiting around for everyone so having a private tour for just the 4 of us really appealed to us. Our guide, Paul, was excellent and ensured the plan for the day was what we wanted from our day out. From the initial request we sent through to the post trip photos and video montage Paul sent to us shortly after it was a trip to remember and can’t fault anything. Communication prior to the trip was fast and really helpful. The timings of each part of the tour worked really well as we avoided the crowds and could stay as long or as little as we wanted at each location. Essential with 2 young kids to factor in who are full of energy one minute and the tired the next! The historical overview provided by Paul for all 3 locations was really interesting and engaging for the kids as well. All in all I’d highly recommend, pack your sunblock and enjoy the experience

Our group of four had an unforgettable experience visiting Chichén Itzá! Our guide, Paul, is fantastic—super knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the site. He speaks multiple languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, and even a bit of Russian, which was a pleasant surprise! Not only is Paul an excellent guide, but he is also a former photographer, so he has amazing and fun ideas for posing. Thanks to him, we got some of the best pictures from our trip! On top of that, he was able to answer tons of questions about history and daily life in Mexico, making the experience even more immersive. The tour is well-organized, with comfortable transportation and plenty of time to explore. Paul’s storytelling brings the history of the Mayan civilization to life, making the visit even more special. Overall, this is a five-star experience, and we highly recommend it!

Paul was such a fun and knowledgeable guide that keeps you laughing throughout the day! He catered the day’s events to our group’s preferences and we enjoyed each experience. Arriving early to Chichen Itza was key to avoiding the crowds - Paul’s early pick up was such smart move. The local lunch was delicious and amazing to watch the owner making fresh tortillas as she has for the past 33 years. The Cenote was gorgeous and so fun to try out the rope swing and swim with the fish. Our last stop in Valladolid took us down a quaint street with local shops that offered a different experience than a big tour would have given us. All the while, Paul captured memories in the photos and videos he was taking of our adventure. Cannot say a bigger thank you to him for a great day and urge you to book him if you are headed to Cancun.

The day tour with Paul in his Beetle was a big highlight of our Cancun vacation. It is a small car, but worked well for us with 2 little kids. Paul picked us up early so that we could avoid the crowds at Chichen Itza. He made sure we did the tour at our own pace and we didn't feel rushed anywhere. The cenote Paul picked for us was beautiful, and he captured some great pictures for us there. For lunch, Paul took us to an authentic Mexican restuarant in Valladolid. The food was great, however it was somewhat on the expensive side. Our tour included the photography package offered by Paul. He clicked our pictures through the day and created a memorable video as well. Will definitely recommend him!

Paul was a great host/tour guide for the day. He picked us up at the hotel where first we swam in a cenote. The best part of the whole trip was the fish that give you fish kisses on your feet👣😁. We then toured the Tulum ruins followed by an interesting lunch in Tulum. We were returned to our room around dinner time a little bit tired but very happy with the day we spent touring. We definitely reccomend Paul. He was very knowledgeable, fun & trustworthy! Thanks again Paul - Neil & Shelley🥂

My husband and our 2 young children recently returned from a trip to Cancun and our best day, by far was our day spent with Paul! He collected us from our resort in his VW Beetle, which on its own was a great experience! We then had the most amazing time at a cenote, followed by the Tullum ruins and finished the day at a relaxed beach bar in Tullum. Paul made us all feel completely at ease and as though we were travelling with a friend. We would 100% recommend Paul to anyone looking for a fun, relaxed and individual day trip, with a young family.

Among three different guided tours started from Cancun we experienced, this one was the best. Paul is an excellent guide who is highly knowledgeable and provides information in a perfectly tailored context. He brings a broad perspective (having visited over 90 countries) and is willing to customize the experience to meet customer needs. For example, we had specific requests for our kids’ meals, and he found an exciting local restaurant that provided simple food for the kids alongside authentic local cuisine. Our tour focused on three main locations: Chichen Itza, a cenote, and a walk through Valladolid. Having a private guide at Chichen Itza was invaluable, as it provided just the right amount of historical detail and helped us avoid the larger tourist crowds that often fill the site. The cenote was majestic, and while Valladolid felt similar to other cities with Spanish roots, it was far more interesting than modern Cancun. Paul offered the option of traveling in either an Audi or a VW Beetle. We chose the Beetle, which was an interesting and cozy experience. However, next time, I would probably opt for the Audi, as modern cars come with certain comfort and convenience features. We highly recommend Paul as a guide.

Our tour with Paul was our favorite day of our vacation! In addition to his skillful guidance throughout the day, he also unobtrusively shot (and shared) many incredible photos of our family, including our two teens. He timed our early arrival at Chichen Itza to maximize cooler temperatures and minimize the crowds. We saw so much of Chichen Itza, with key context and explanations shared by Paul. He adapted the day to our preferences regarding type of cenote, restaurant, etc. His food rec's were spot on! He was responsive, thoughtful, considerate, and personable. Fantastic, fun experience overall! And definitely get the Mayan hot chocolate at the restaurant in Valladolid!

Very comfortable and safe vehicle throughout adventure. Paul was on time very knowledgeable and managed the large group of 8 of us perfectly. The guided tour was very insightful and he made the information very relatable. We tasted local cuisine and visted a beautiful deep Cenote. The tour of the magical city of Valladolid was just that. The stroll through the colonial streets filled with great shops and local artisans made for the perfect end to the great day. Senor Paul recapped the entire trip in a wonderful GoPro recap. Highly recommend, was priced reasonably and look forward to our next adventure with Paul & his team.

Wow!! Paul was such a great tour guide. He was extremely knowledgable and was so great at pacing the day, very sensitive to the flow of our multigenerational group. He knew when to get into detail and when to move on. Not only do we feel like we got all of our questions answered, we also had a FULL PHOTO SHOOT! Paul’s Chichen Itza private tour was incredible from start to finish. He picked us up on time in his unique, customized vehicle, drove safely, and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. Starting earlier than other tours meant we got to Chichén Itzá before the crowds, allowing us to explore peacefully. Paul’s knowledge of the site was impressive, and his fun, engaging explanations made the experience unforgettable. He’s also great with a camera, capturing amazing photos and videos for us. FYI - he’s a professional photographer! The local restaurant he recommended for lunch was fantastic—definitely follow his suggestions! The whole day was comfortable, private, and stress-free, and the edited video he sent afterward was the perfect way to relive the memories. We really appreciate that he customized the tour based on how we want it! It was truly an unforgettable experience. If you’re looking for a top-notch way to experience Chichén Itzá, I can’t recommend Paul enough!

A private tour with Paul gave us a unique experience that you do not get with bus tours. We had an amazing experience from start to finish. It began before the trip with good information, arrangements, and suggestions for the tour. The tour day started on time in a comfortable car with AC. Drinks were offered, and even snacks since the hotel didn't have a breakfast box we could take with us. The guiding was informative, engaging, and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Mayan culture. Photos were taken throughout the tour and air-dropped at the end, which was a super add-on! The cenote with lianas was perfect. Towels were also provided. The service was excellent! The lunch was both a visual and tasteful experience. We had great freedom and service during the tour, which we highly recommend and appreciated. If we had stayed longer in Cancun, we would have booked more experiences with Paul.

ou definitely want to check out Senor Travel Bug Tours if you’re planning a trip to Cancun or Playa Del Carmen and want to take a tour. Senor Travel Bug Tours was referred to me by a friend as we wanted to explore Mayan ruins and learn about Mexican history, and I can say it was one of the best tours we’ve ever had! Paul picked us up from our resort in a comfortable full sized Audie and took us to Chitzen Itsa, swimming in a cenote and then to Valladolid. Paul was not only extremely knowledgeable and friendly but he was super accommodating, spending more time at some places when we found ourselves not wanting to leave. He is an amazing photographer and provided us with a short video and lots of pictures of our day, something we didn’t expect but are so grateful for as it’s rare for the whole family to be in pictures together. Paul helped translate when we were shopping and took us to eat authentic Mexican food to round out the experience. I highly recommend arranging a tour with Paul and Senor Travel Bug Tours!

My husband and I visited the Cancun area during Christmas week, and a day trip to Chichen Itza was high on our priority list. I'm so glad we did Paul's tour. He was super knowledgeable about the area and, since it was a private tour, the day's schedule was very flexible. Paul picked us up at our hotel at the crack of dawn so we could get to Chichen Itza right when it opened. While I loved the idea of the VW Beetle, we opted to use a different vehicle since both my husband and I are on the taller side and it would be about 4 hours round trip in the car from our hotel. Once at Chichen Itza, we went at our own pace and were able to see everything before it got too busy (and hot!). I also appreciated that he partnered with a local guide at Chichen Itza, who had even more knowledge of the site's history, construction, and ties to astronomy. It was a very personalized tour - they were a great team and we learned so much. After Chichen Itza, we asked to try food that is local to the area, so Paul took us to a small roadside restaurant that is known for its pork longaniza, poc chuc, and homemade tortillas. Many of the other patrons seemed to be on a lunch break from work, so it really did feel like a true locals restaurant. After lunch, we went to a cenote. The day had become rather warm, so the swim was very refreshing. We opted to skip the last stop in Valladolid because we were tired from the day before. Before dropping us off at the hotel, Paul uploaded pictures and video he took of us during the day. I tend to forget to take pictures, so I really appreciated all of the great shots he got of us. Later that evening, he also sent a ~1 minute compilation video that was a great recap of our day. I'd highly recommend Paul - he was a great conversationalist and tour guide, and offered a very personalized experience. It felt like we were visiting an old friend who was showing us around for the day. His tour might be a little more expensive than some of the other small group tours, but it was definitely worth the additional cost because of his local knowledge, the flexibility of the schedule, private vehicle transfer, and photos and videos. I would definitely use him again for another tour the next time we're back in the Cancun area.

We had an incredible time on our tour with Paul! From the moment we met him, we instantly felt at ease. We were a group of 5 and Paul helped renting a van so that we could have a more enjoyable and relaxed experience. He was also great at planning our trip for the day. What really made the experience special was the personal touch Paul brought to the whole trip. It truly felt like he became part of our family, attending to our needs and ensuring we had an unforgettable time. He loves his job and his dedication is evidently seen in his work and knowledge. He answered all our questions and shared insights into the local culture that were so helpful. Throughout the day, he remained focused, engaged, and humble, treating everyone with kindness and respect. And, of course, he wore a big smile the whole time, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. When we asked our kids what the highlight of our Cancun trip was, they all agreed it was the time we spent with Paul. We even got to check out his cool beetle! He made the experience truly special, and we can't thank him enough for video he created to enjoy the memories we made together. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, friendly guide who's passionate about providing an unforgettable experience, Paul is your guy. We highly recommend him and can’t wait to plan our next adventure with him!

I approached Paul to suggest a suitable bespoke day tour, for 4 adults aged 43, 66, 73 and 73 for which he suggested the locations - Chichen Itza, Ek Balam and the City of Valladolid. We travelled in a Q5 due to the ages of my group. Paul is a fantastic person and was extremely flexible in supporting the needs of my group. He is full of knowledge, not only with the places we visited, but also other areas of Mexico and the World. It was wonderful to hear about his life and his experiences in living in Mexico. Paul ensured the day was ours, and we could do and see as we fit, in the time we required. No encourntered no rushing or time challenges in any locations. We all throughouly enjoyed the trip and would strongly recommend Paul and his services. Money well spent and a great experience.

A fantastic full day tour with Señor Travel Bug, taking in the Mayan temples of El Belek, the village of Temozón, and Uayma. Paul was a really enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who made this a real trip to remember. His photography skills also left me with a wonderful souvenir of the day. I’d thoroughly recommend one of his bespoke tours. It was so good I booked a tour of Cancún the following day and will be returning with friends in 2025. Just brilliant!!

Book this tour! I value the information passed down from previous travelers and so, I tend to read the negative reviews from the most booked tours. By doing it this way, I will know the common complaints and which amenities I am willing to pay for. After hours of researching, I knew that Paul was the correct choice for us (calling him directly is the way to go). We spoke on the phone, and he was extremely accommodating to my questions and concerns. On the day of the tour, he adjusted his schedule to meet our needs (travelling with a 7-year-old) and arrived early at our resort. The ride in the full-sized Audi sedan was wonderfully comfortable and the three of us were immersed in conversation about everything from careers, nature, Mexico, history and traveling. Once we got to Chichen Itza, I was blown away with what I was witnessing. These Mayan ruins are a must-visit; sacrifice everything else to dedicate a single day to see it. Go with Paul as he really knows his stuff and explained the ruins in such a way that you will appreciate why the ancient Mayans were a fascinating society. Next, we accepted Paul's suggestion of a local restaurant, and it became the best Mexican food that I have ever had. It sounds like a trivial thing but after eating resort food for 5 days, experiencing true local Mexican cuisine was much appreciated. Valladolid is a city filled with historical significance, and I do regret that we did not ask for more time there. Paul did the best that he could, given that we had requested a specific schedule. But for sure next time, we will plan on being there longer. Paul's tour includes the cost of adult admissions to Chichen Itza- remember that most other basic group tours do not. He is also a professional photographer, fluent in four languages including Spanish, and an expert in Cancun life. The premium service that we received, was a true bargain.

Paul is unquestionably the best tour guide I’ve ever had. His extensive knowledge of history and each site we visited was amazing. I don’t know how he imparts all of this information while remaining incredibly entertaining the entire day. In a nutshell, he treated me to a day to remember. He made sure that we focused on what I wanted to do and experience. He was able to plan it all and execute seamlessly! We started with a trip to Chichén Itzá followed by lunch at a traditional Mayan restaurant that was delicious. On the drive back, we stopped in for some shopping in Valladolid, then a visit to Cenoté Azul. All this ended with a lovely dinner and a visit to downtown Cancun for some special food stand desserts! On top of this, he sent me a keepsake video that truly captured the fun of it all! Who does that? Definitely a unique experience unlike any private tour that I have taken!! Be sure to book him early as his time fills up quickly!
