About this Experience
What you'll do:
Market Price is a mobile oyster bar and educational initiative based in Brooklyn, NY. We offer a variety of classes, including oyster shucking classes, paired oyster and wine tasting classes, and even caviar tasting classes! Or, if you’re not in the learning mood, we can set up a raw bar for you and your friends while you pregame and/ or primp!
Think oyster shooters, caviar bumps, and more! A Market Price oyster bar is perfect for all seafood lovers and great for parties who are looking to turn up, as well as parties that want a more relaxed/ educational experience.
Why we love it for your party:
It’s hands-on, boozy, and bougie in the best way (Learn to shuck like a pro while sipping wine or slurping oyster shooters)
You get oysters and education (Perfect for parties that want to turn up or nerd out—your vibe, your choice)
Caviar bumps are a thing, and yes, you need them (Trust us, it’s fun, flashy, and totally Instagram-worthy)
The setup is sleek and completely mobile (Whether you're pregaming or hosting a chill brunch, we bring the raw bar to you)
Seafood that’s seriously sustainable (So you can indulge in luxury while supporting the planet)

Additional information:
We work with you to customize the experience you are looking for, but some of our options include:
Our Oyster Shucking Class is the perfect opportunity to master the sexiest skill of all time: shucking an oyster. We provide gloves, knives, oysters, and toppings. You can add a drink or snack package to the class for a whole afternoon of fun.
New York was the oyster capital of the world for many years. In our Oyster Tasting Class, we will discuss oyster history (especially as it pertains to this great city), oyster ecology, and how to go about tasting oysters. The class includes 3 different varieties of oysters. This can be combined with the shucking class for the full oyster experience.
If you’ve had caviar, you probably love it. If you haven’t had it, now is the perfect time. Let us bring some jars of the good stuff to you. You can do a Caviar Tasting Class to try some different kinds and learn about them, or we can just pass around a spoon. You know you want photos of the whole group doing “bumps.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What if someone in our group doesn't eat oysters?
That is totally okay. In our experience, people find our oyster classes to be fascinating whether or not they partake in the eating. We have even converted more than one guest (or at least convinced them to try). We can always provide vegetarian or vegan snacks to make them feel more included.
Where does this all take place?
Wherever you want! We are mobile and that means we come to you. If you are staying in a hotel that doesn't have the space, we can arrange a location (like a local wine bar or brewery) that works for you.
Isn't shucking dangerous?
It can be, but not with us! We require a signed waiver just in case but no one has ever even needed a bandaid after one of our classes. We provide stab proof gloves and expert instruction.
How long does this take?
A standard class takes about 1-1.5 hours depending on the size of the group and the options chosen. Shucking classes are generally a little shorter but we leave time for you to shuck up a bunch of oysters and enjoy them.
Do oysters really make you h*rny?
The answer is complicated... Technically no but oysters are a very sensual food (the slurping and handling etc). Also, oysters are chock full of zinc which is a mineral proven to increase blood flow and endurance. Do with that what you will ;)
