About this Experience

What you'll do:

You step through a hidden door and into La Aparicion de la Muerte, Mint to Be Mojito's speakeasy, where a welcome cocktail is waiting, and a two-hour cocktail class is about to begin.

  • Welcome cocktail and venue reveal - You arrive at a greeting drink and a proper introduction to one of Savannah's most unexpected hidden spaces before the class gets started.

  • Latin American appetizers - You sit down to a spread of traditional Latin American bites, giving you something to eat and a taste of the culture behind the cocktails you are about to make.

  • Cocktail history and technique - Your mixologist walks you through the history, components, and method behind the mojito, so you understand what you are making before you make it.

  • Hands-on cocktail making - You build your own drink from scratch using pre-batched ingredients and professional equipment, with real-time coaching from your instructor.

  • Advanced techniques and spirits tasting - The class finishes with a second round that levels up the original method and introduces you to spirits you may not have tried before.

By the time you walk out, you have had a full meal's worth of food, made two cocktails from scratch, and picked up enough technique to actually use at home. It is one of the more complete two hours you can spend in Savannah, GA.

Why we love it for your party:

  • Midday timing - Scheduled during the hottest part of the day, so it works perfectly as a cool-down between your morning activities and evening dinner reservations.

  • Real hands-on instruction - Your instructor has trained bartenders across the region for years, and the entire class is built around doing, not just watching.

  • Food included - Traditional Latin American appetizers are served as part of the experience, so your group eats well without adding another stop to the itinerary.

  • Capped at 20 guests - The class stays small so everyone gets individual attention, without the wait times or crowding you get at larger venue events.

  • Practical takeaways - You leave knowing what equipment to buy, what to look for in products, and how to set up a basic home bar, which makes the class useful long after the night is over.

About this experience partner:

Mint to Be Mojito is a Savannah cocktail bar founded by Mary Githens, a Peruvian immigrant and Georgia Southern Top 40 Under 40 honoree, who built the business around one thing: the perfectly made mojito. The bar operates out of a speakeasy concept called La Aparicion de la Muerte, one of the few venues of its kind in the city, and hosts cocktail classes for groups, bachelorette parties, and date nights year-round. Mary's background in both Latin culture and professional beverage training is what makes the classes here feel different from a standard mixology session.
