Captain Tom is also a professional photographer and will also assist in capturing the special moment on camera or video at no additional charge and will help in every step on the planning process if asked or let you make the planning. Our goal is to provide you with the perfect sunset moment on the water that will be cherished forever!

Captain Tom owner of Traverse City Sailing Charters is a licensed U.S.C.G. master captain with over 30 years of sailing experience and has hosted hundreds of guest aboard BAYLIFE a beautiful and spacious Catalina 34 MKii sailboat. Captain Tom is also a co-publisher of BAYLIFE Magazine in Traverse City and is up on all the best restaurants, places to stay and shop in the area.
Additional information:
The 2-hour Sunset Proposal Cruise cost $325 for two people however, you may invite additional friends at a cost of $50 each up to a total of 6 guests. A full refund rain guarantee is provided as captain Tom does not like to sail in the rain either!

Are there other guests on the 2-hour sunset charter cruise?
No the sail is private and you are the only two guests along with Captain Tom and his 1st mate.
What if I have an out of the box idea for the proposal moment?
No problem as captain Tom welcomes any ideas you may have and will make every effort of making it happen for you. He also has plenty of ideas he can offer for the special proposal moment if you need inspiration!
Can I bring along a bottle of Champagne to help celebrate the occasion?
Yes, you may bring along any beverages of choice to enjoy on the cruise.
What do we do if they say no for my proposal?
Fortunately I have only had one occasion that the other person didn't say "yes" but more of a "maybe" but it was an awkward moment and a quiet trip back to the marina. Best advice is be confident they are ready to say "yes!"
Can I call and discuss my ideas with you prior to the sail?
Absolutely I have a ton of ideas and ways you can make it a total surprise for them that I can share with you.

What if I want photos of the moment?
We have had one occasion where the photographer and friends boarded earlier and hid below deck and all popped out when you made the proposal. Captain Tom is also a professional photographer and will gladly video and shoot shots of the occasion for you at no charge.
