Rum Tasting & Pairing Experience in Punta Cana

The Rum Tasting tour was excellent, I never know how pairing the rum with cheese and chocolate improves the taste.

The experience of rum tasting with Modesto was fun and educational. I am not a fan of rum but Modesto made the whole thing fun and I enjoyed every minute of it.

We (4 adults) took two excursions with Punta Cana Adventures and Tours during the last week of October. We took a snorkeling excursion to Catalina Island and a chocolate making class at Taino in Punta Cana. Both excursions were excellent! The staff on both excursions were professional and our company concierge Modesto provided timely updates as to our pick up times from our hotel. He provided the opportunity to both call or text in case of any difficulties. The snorkeling excursion to Catalina lasted a full day. The boat was spotless, staff was friendly, and professional, and the snorkeling gear provided was new, clean, and in excellent shape. We had a buffet lunch on a beach on the island which was tasty and plentiful, plus we had the opportunity for a fee to buy fresh fish or lobster which would be barbecued on the spot for us if we wanted. There is also a small craft market at the beach. The chocolate making excursion took place at a fair trade shop called Taino in Punta Cana, where we learned about the history of chocolate, got to make some chocolate bars and hot chocolate balls and had a chance to purchase fair trade chocolate, coffee and gifts. Taino is also the location of Punta Cana Adventures’ rum-tasting excursion and a dining excursion and a couple who joined us in the chocolate making said they had tried both and they were excellent. The tour guide Felix was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. We had had a slight problem with booking the chocolate making excursion and we were quickly contacted by the company’s cofounder who remedied our difficulty immediately and provided fast and professional customer service. Booking the excursions before we left Canada saved us the 18% Dominican Republic sales tax and we had the flexibility to cancel if necessary or change dates once we arrived at our resort. All in all, we found the company and the excursions to be well organized, friendly, and highly professional. 100% recommend!

My girlfriend and I did the rum tasting, chocolate class, and dolphin/snorkeling adventures. They give a discount when you bundle them. All the trips were worth the price. The staff were all friendly and entertaining. We had a good time. Thanks!

From the point when I just wanted some information, to when I booked both tours, the Rum tasting and Chocolate master class, building up to the swiss punctuality of the transport they sent for us, and ending up in meeting and attending both classes by this guy in the picture, we can say that these experiences are truly worth your interest, money and most of all, your valued time in Punta Cana. He KNOWS what he is talking about, and he talks very kindly, makes every aspect of what he is talking about very interesting and entertaining. I wouldn´t want to spoil any details of the experiences so here it is, if you can make the time for this, you will not regret it, and I hope you are lucky to get this guy!!!

Everything was perfectly organized and the communication was clear! Rum Lab is located near a beautiful souvenir shop! Felix from Rum Lab gives a really great tasting. Enthusiastic and easy to understand! The rum we tasted was also excellent!

Loved the rum tasting. Learned a lot and enjoyed some great rum. Pick was on time and the SUV nice and clean. Driver was safe and very friendly. Would highly recommend if you interested in rum.

We did a few excursions through PCA. The rum tasting was fun and excellent. We toured Santo Domingo and had the best tour guide, Raymond! He was so knowledgeable about his country. We also really enjoyed the power dive. It was my first time diving and I was a little panicked but the guides were very attentive and patient. Sadly, the Sanoa Island excursion was horrible. The pressure to buy things and the shady nature of the people we dealt with that entire day made me never want to return to the DR! Thank goodness the other excursions were so good.
