We had an absolutely great time at the distillery and the bus there and back made it easy to get there! I highly recommend this tour to anyone spending time in or around Nashville...the tour of the distillery was really interesting, and the tasting was great!
History and growth plans for the company very interesting. Terrell, the tour guide displayed good energy and able to blend history and fun facts throughout then tour.
Our driver Jimmy was fun and entertaining. The you’re at Uncle Nearest was worth the time and money.
Great Day in Lynchburg! May 2025 • Family Wonderful day! Trip to and from Lynchburg was very comfortable in a beautiful bus. The Jack Daniel’s experience was over the top! The tour, the welcome center, the town square were all exceptional. We would do it again in a heartbeat!
Excellent tour! It went at a great pace. John was kind and provided lots of fun facts and history. We especially enjoyed the Nelson Distillery. Great whiskey and an interesting history with beautiful facilities. We would recommend.
New, sleek black bus picked us up promptly in Nashville and took us to Lynchburg. Kathi was our tour guide who did an awesome job! She was so informative and funny with a sense of humor too. The tasting was nice because it covered 6 varieties and we don't normally drink Jack. Following the tour we walked the town square, a very short walk away. Ate at Barrelhouse BBQ. Delicious pulled pork, sweet potato casserole, green beans and hubby had potato salad that was great too! (FYI Miss Mary Bobo's is closed on Sundays) I would definitely recommend this tour. It was a welcomed break from our stay in Nashville!
We had an amazing time on this tour! Jimmy, our guide, was super fun and had us all laughing. We enjoyed our time and the transportation was comfortable. Definitely recommend.
Our bus trip was enjoyable. Our tour of the Jack Daniels distillery was outstanding. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and made our tour very enjoyable with his humor and his wit kept our interest the whole time.
My boyfriend (a bourbon lover) and I (bartender) have been wanting to visit the Uncle Nearest distillery for a while, and our experience exceeded every expectation! From start to finish, everything was incredible. Our tour guide, Xavier, was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the history of Nearest Green come alive in such a meaningful way. The whiskey tasting was a highlight—we had the chance to try a variety of expressions, including one that’s no longer available and another exclusive to the distillery. Each pour showcased the exceptional craftsmanship that Uncle Nearest is known for. We also loved our meal at Barrel House, where the food was just as impressive as the whiskey. Afterwards we had a couple of cocktails at Humble Baron, which we learned is the longest bar in the world. Happened to come on a night where live music was playing and really enjoyed our evening. If you’re a whiskey lover or just appreciate rich history and great hospitality, a visit to Uncle Nearest is a must! We’ll definitely be back.
The history of Uncle Nearest was very interesting. Terrell, our tour guide was engaging, funny and knowledgeable. We left the tour feeling proud of the accomplishments made by the owners and the entire team. We want to visit the world’s largest bar again in the future for one of the many events hosted by Uncle Nearest. I recommend all to stop by and learn some history and have fun while you’re doing it
I enjoyed the whiskey tour, tried a sample of bourbons that were really good. The tour guide was knowledgeable and was very interesting. The bbq restaurant was good as well. We had brisket, pulled pork, and turkey. The sides were good too. The brewery had very good beers. Would come back to that spot again. I would definitely recommend this tour to others.
A great story, a great whiskey and a great tour ! Thanks Terrell for sharing your knowledge and your passion for UN with us and our group. Ending the tour at the world’s longest bar at the Humbke Barron restaurant makes the experience all the more unique !
Fantastic experience What a fantastic experience this is. Well worth heading to Lynchburg for. Our bus driver was funny and informative on our trip from Nashville, the county music was just a great bonus there and back. The tour is fascinating it’s an amazing place. The tasting was definitely a revelation, I’ve discovered flavours I would definitely not have tried before the tour. Highly recommend.
Great experience! Our driver was really friendly and chatty. Easy journey there and back, nice views of the countryside as well. Our guide at Jack Daniels was lovely, telling us really interesting facts followed by a whiskey tasting. We really enjoyed ourselves, some free time in Lynchburg to grab some lunch and shopping, we went to the small jail museum as well which is worth a visit, it's independently run off donations. Would definitely recommend this tour when you're in Nashville! Nice day out away from the hustle and bustle of Broadway
Great guide, great product. We had a thorough tour of the facilities and a guide with experience and a wealth of knowledge. Learned a lot about Ole Jack. Thought it was funny that he was a bachelor but quite a ladies man. Are you sure there are no blood relatives spawned by him?
Interesting tour and great tour guide, where we got a better understanding of how unique and special the process for making JD is
We road to Lynchburg with Jimmy. He was so fun and knowledgeable about the area and made the time fly by. The JD tour was organized and our tour guide Debbie was truly fantastic. I truly recommend!
5 Stars is not enough! We loved, loved, LOVED this tour! I don't even like Jack Daniels or whisky but this experience was for sure, one of the highlights of our road trip across the States. Where to begin...the bus picks you up from a central / convenient location and drops you right off at the visitor centre. We had a rental car however weren't sure how much Jack would be consumed and didn't want to risk any DUI's and was perfect considering the raging hangover we had from 'over indulging' on Broadway the night before, this completely took the stress out of driving for us. Living in Scotland, we have done distillery tours in the past but this is by far the best tour we have ever taken. Our guide, Matt, was one of the nicest people we've ever met. He gave us so much interesting information about processes, history and the site itself and really went the extra mile to bring everything to life. The fact we arrived on the same day that the World BBQ Championship was happening made the trip extra special. After our tour we had spare time to walk around the small town of Lynchburg and due to the BBQ championships it meant we got to go around and sample some of the delicious dishes being cooked. Would definitely go back if the opportunity came up again.
The tour is SPECTACULAR!! Information of the history how it all began was so heartfelt. I wish there were more Historical stories shared like this one. I would encourage anyone to take the tour . Beautiful setting !!!
Great tour by the fabulous Brandi, whose knowledge on both the history of JD and her tasters knowledge made the tour very good and worth the trip. Plenty of time is put aside for lunch and shopping too
Kathy was a phenomenal tour guide! The tour was fascinating; it didn’t feel long or short, and I would highly recommend it. Make sure you get an apple cider fire to start the tour 😋
The Uncle Nearest tour was the highlight of my birthday trip to Nashville! Our tour bus driver, Mr. Jimmy, was beyond entertaining along with some history notes! He made the trip to and from the distillery so much fun & safe!
Great communication prior to the tour. Excellent bus driver, and very clean transportation bus. Plenty of time for the tour and to shop for bottles directly from the distillery. The town square is a short walk or shuttle ride, and there was enough time to relax. The tour guide Amy was quite knowledgeable and answered all questions. Wonderful experience.
Frank the shuttle driver was excellent very funny very professional and a safe driver. The tour at JD’S distillery was fabulous along with tasting 5 of the best made from the start to the finish learning the whole history from Kathi our tour guide was great we also had a opportunity to shop At several shops in Lynchburg town square and had some exceptional food to eat at a place called Barrel House BBQ we hadGrilled cheese on crack with pulled pork and a couple sides. I Highly recommend doing this tour.
Nashty Bandits Birthday Bash Amazing people, wonderful views, great whiskey! Helped us host a friend group reunion from all the United States and everyone had a blast.
Great experience. We hit 3 very nice, small craft distillers. A lot of history and insight into the distilling process. My son and I would highly recommend this tour.
Incredible tour. The distilleries were amazing but Tom the bus driver was highlight of the tour. Tom attended to our every need, cracked some hilarious jokes, and made the experience one we wouldn’t forget. Great bachelor party experience
10/10 experience! We had a great bus rider who was lots of fun and provided a lot of insight into the small town of Lynchburg as well as a bit of Nashville. I can’t remember his name unfortunately. Our tour guide at the distillery, Justin, was also lots of fun and made the experience better than I expected it to be. It was so cool to get an inside look at such a world famous whiskey. I highly recommend.
The driver was on time and very easy going. Loved seeing the countryside and the different distilleries.
Folks you need to book with this wonderful group! From the office staff behind the scenes to the tour bus driver they make sure you are taken care of! We had a illness for the date we originally book and they were accommodating for us! The bus ride was long from Nashville but the bus tour extraordinaire driver made it seem fast and had a good sense of humor that made you laugh! Thank you guys again for a wonderful experience!!!
Great tour Was so nice to have the work done for us The bus picks you up and has your tickets book and ready for you when you arrive Nice to only have to worry about getting to the bus then everything else is taken care of for you!
Our driver Mr. Jimmy was hit! He offered much comic relief during the ride there and back. Xavier was an excellent tour guide. His knowledge of the distillery, history and the products at hand is priceless. We had to eat in a rush, the food was delicious.
The Uncle Nearest tour was 10/10, highly recommended! Our guide was friendly & knowledgeable. We got a chance to taste a few different whiskies & boy was it good! There are two restaurants on the property with some really tasty options. I would definitely visit again.
The three distilleries we went to were great. Each tour and distillery had its differences, with the first at leipers fork being the most informative and the second at Company Distilling offering the most samples. The last distillery in Nashville offered the most variety since they appeared to have more than just whiskey and bourbon products.
Definitely worth the trip! Our bus driver was very informative on the way there and back providing info about the area and towns we went through. Matt was our tour guide at the distillery. He was the best guide on any trip I’ve been on. He was funny, knowledgeable, kind, knew what he was talking about, included everyone. He made the tour exceptional! I enjoyed learning about Jack Daniel and how it is made and the history.
Fun day trip if you like whiskey, bourbon, and other spirits! Comfortable bus. Low key driver, Jamie was great! Would recommend for a fun off Broadway experience!
The tour bus was very clean, with comfortable seats. Our driver was very personable. We were picked up right on time. The tour was informative - our tour guide, Juliet, was great - fantastic personality. The tasting was exactly that - just a taste of whiskey and rye- but Lynchburg is a dry town. Quaint little village to walk around - plenty of shops to check out and restaurants.
We had a great time. Frank our bus driver was Fantastic, funny, informative and just a nice guy. The angels share tour was very good. Learned a lot from our tour guide and had a great 50th birthday for my wife. Would highly recommend. Lots of walking !!
We took the Tennessee Whiskey Tour during a bachelor party trip to Nashville. The entire experience was awesome - they picked us up near Broadway and right off the bat we knew it was going to be a great day because of how fun the driver was. They took us to three cool distilleries and each one provided a unique experience. One thing was common among all three though, the whiskies were great! The first distillery we visited was H Clark (soon to be merged with Company Distilling). In addition to whiskies, they had two gins for us to try. I’ve never enjoyed gin in the past, but I gave both a try and they were both really good! During the trip, the driver had cold, local beers ready for us to drink in between distilleries. We also made a stop at a great BBQ restaurant for lunch (best baked beans I’ve ever had). The trip took around 6 hours in total and the driver brought us straight back to our Airbnb at the end. This tour was a wonderful experience that I could not recommend more highly!
Our driver was wonderful. Safe and funny. The tour was great. Our guide was funny, too. Good sense of humor is a better way to put it. The bus was super clean. Felt safe and had a really enjoyable day.
Highlight of my Bachelor Party! I couldn't have asked for anything more! My boys and I had a great time! Tour guide was great. Whiskey great. Pictures great. 10/10
We road to Lynchburg with Jimmy. He was so fun and knowledgeable about the area and made the time fly by. The JD tour was organized and our tour guide Debbie was truly fantastic. I truly recommend!
Our group had a great time visiting 3 unique distilleries on a private tour. We also stopped at a local BBQ restaurant. Jimmy was our driver. He was very accommodating and hilarious to talk to. I would recommend this tour if you’re interested in learning how whiskey and other spirits are made and the history of them.....and of course they make sure you get your share of tasting!
Such a great experience. Definitely worth the price! You can drink in the van and the driver was really nice. We learned so much about whiskey and have found a new appreciation on the process of whiskey making after this tour. Pro tip: bring an extra bag or make room in your luggage for bottles you pick up at the tour. Also prepare bubble wrap especially if you’re flying home
