Pottery Wheel Party in Lowell with Clay & Glazes Included (BYOB)

About this Experience

What you'll do:

Bring your next birthday party, bachelorette, work outing, or family outing to our pottery wheel class at our studio! Spend your time getting messy on the pottery wheel, learn from our helpful instructor, and see what small ceramics you can make. This event is great for beginners or folks with no clay experience at all! Using a pottery wheel is perfect for anyone over the age of 9. Pottery takes a good bit of muscle and focus, so keep that in mind!

The class is divided into three parts:

  1. Guests will make up to two pieces on the pottery wheel, following a demonstration.

  2. While your clay is drying, there will be time for a quick snack break or just socializing (with whatever snacks or cakes you choose to provide).

  3. After that, guests will glaze their pottery and get it ready for the kiln.

Why we love it for your party:

  • A creative, hands-on activity everyone can enjoy—no experience needed!

  • Two hours of laughter and memories in a relaxed studio setting

  • Great for kids and adults—everyone leaves feeling proud of what they made

  • A unique bonding experience that goes beyond the usual dinner or drinks

  • Your handmade pieces will be fired and finished for you so you'll have a lasting memory of your event!

  • Our instructors guide you step by step, so you can focus on having fun

About this experience partner:

The Pottery Mill is a cozy, inviting space in Lowell where groups come together to create and connect. Enjoy our semi-private room, set the mood with your own music, and let our instructors guide you through a pottery wheel lesson. It’s a relaxed, one-of-a-kind way to celebrate your next birthday party, holiday party, bachelorette, work outing, family fun activity, meet and greet, mixer, Girl Scout troop, or team building workshop!

Additional information:

  • This event can accommodate up to 8 guests. The total price starts at a minimum of $276 (for up to 6 guests) and is an additional $46 for each added guest.

  • Parties are two hours of fun, guests can arrive up to 15 minutes early to allow time to park and settle into the studio.

  • Long nails are NOT recommended, your pretty nails will survive the process, but it will make each step harder for you.

  • Any clothing is fine, but you will get clay on your arms, legs, and maybe even torso, so be sure to bring a change of clothes if you have dinner plans later!

  • This event is BYOB and BYOF (food). Please feel free to bring either, but snack/break time will only be 10-15 minutes!

  • The work that you and your guests make will be ready for pickup three weeks after the event.

Four of my friends and I had a great time here for part of my best friend's bachelorette. Our wonderful instructor did a great job of balancing letting us experiment and making sure we walked away proud of the pieces we made. We definitely used the whole two hour time slot and could have used more time. I look forward to picking up the pieces in a couple weeks!

My daughter and I went to a class right before Christmas. We have always wanted to use the pottery wheel. We had so much fun. We made 4 items. My first attempt was sad, but by the fourth turn, I actually made a decent shaped bowl. Our teacher was patient and had a great personality. I would highly recommend trying a class. This was a great present for my crafty daughter

My partner and I LOVED the one time wheel throwing workshop! It was easy to follow along with and informative. At any time, Abby was available for help along the way! I’d love to take a more in-depth workshop after this one. 10000/10

My wife and I took a beginners pottery wheel class at Pottery Mill in Lowell to celebrate our 9th anniversary (pottery), and it was an incredible experience! The instructor was clear, patient, and very helpful, making the whole process approachable even as complete beginners. We each had enough time to complete four pieces, which felt like a real accomplishment for a first class. It was so rewarding to see our progress in such a short time—and honestly, we both walked away understanding why pottery is such an addictive and meditative craft. The studio had a welcoming vibe, and the class was the perfect mix of instruction and hands-on creativity. We left with a fun new memory and a new appreciation for the art form. Highly recommend for a date, special occasion, or just to try something new!
