About this Experience
What you'll do
Board a high-speed jet boat in Myrtle Beach and spend an hour on the Intracoastal Waterway doing 360 spins, sharp cuts, and full-throttle runs, or upgrade to the 90-minute version that extends out to the Atlantic Ocean in search of wild bottlenose dolphins along the way.
Hold On Through the Spins — The captain runs the jet boat through high-speed 360-degree rotations and sharp directional cuts that put you sideways over the water. This is the closest thing to a rollercoaster the Intracoastal Waterway has to offer.
Cruise the ICW to the Atlantic — On the 90-minute option, the boat covers a 9-mile stretch of the Intracoastal Waterway out toward the open ocean, combining the thrill of high-speed running with the scenery of the South Carolina coastal route.
Watch for Dolphins Offshore — Once in the Atlantic, the captain navigates toward known bottlenose dolphin habitat, and when conditions are right, dolphins regularly pull alongside the jet boat as it moves through the water.
Ride to Your Own Soundtrack — The onboard sound system plays throughout the full ride, so the energy stays up between maneuvers and during the open-water transit sections.
Walk Away With the Photos — Every ride is captured on an onboard GoPro system, and the photo package gives you access to the footage, 360 spins, dolphin moments, and the faces your group makes during both.
This is the jet boat ride Myrtle Beach groups book when they want something that doesn't fit the standard boat tour format. It's faster, louder, and wetter than anything else on the water, and the GoPro package means you leave with proof. The dolphin cruise add-on turns a thrill ride into a full coastal experience without changing the high-speed format that makes it worth booking in the first place.
Why we love it for your group
Two Formats, One Booking Decision — The 1-hour thrill ride and the 90-minute dolphin cruise version are both available at booking, so your group picks the format that fits your time, budget, and appetite for open-ocean running.
GoPro Photo Package Included — Every spin, splash, and dolphin encounter is captured automatically; no one has to manage a phone, and everyone in the group gets the footage.
USCG-Licensed Captains — The high-speed maneuvers are run by Coast Guard-licensed captains who know these waterways and manage the ride's intensity to keep it thrilling without being reckless.
Built-In Sound System — The jet boat runs its own sound system throughout the ride, which keeps the energy consistent whether the captain is pushing full throttle or cruising between maneuvers.
Ocean Backup Plan — If wave height exceeds 3 feet on the Atlantic, the captain extends the ICW ride with additional tricks and dolphin searching in the waterway. The 90-minute format delivers either way.
About this experience partner:
Southern Shores Island and Dolphin Cruises operates the Thrillseeker Jet Boat, one of the only high-speed jet boat rides available on the Myrtle Beach Intracoastal Waterway alongside a full fleet that includes a USCG-inspected catamaran, additional cruise vessels, and a Sea-Doo jet ski program out of North Myrtle Beach. The company is run by experienced USCG-licensed captains who know the ICW route, the offshore dolphin habitat, and the conditions on this stretch of the South Carolina coast in enough detail to run both the thrill ride and the dolphin cruise formats safely and consistently. Southern Shores draws groups who want to book multiple water experiences in a single trip, jet boat in the morning, catamaran cruise in the afternoon, making it the most versatile water sports operator on this section of the coast.
